I can get free 225/50 winter tires....useable?
I did a search and found 5 topics that basically it was possible, but there was some rub...but no specific info.
Has anyone run 225's on S-lites? If so what did you need to do to get them to work?

its not so much wide as it is tall!
im running 205/50-17 and im rubbing over large humps with about 2.5 negative camber too, granted my wheel is about 8mm further out than the s-lites

Nope, not useable at all...
(225*.5*2)/25.4+17=25.86" Tall, which is (25.86-24.26)/24.26=6.5% taller than stock!!! That much would scew up your handling/braking/MPH readout/etc. All bad.
PLUS... wider tires are a REALLY bad idea for winter. You want narrower tires, not wider (Look at WRC winter tires, they are like 4" wide!). You are trying to increase ground pressure to dig down into the snow/ice for traction, not float on top.
I'd skip em.

Thanks for the responses...I also have another free tire that I could pick up, its a set of blizzacks on honda 14" rims. Im not sure of the width (im assuming 185, or 195) or height, but the tires are in good shape, on a 4x100 steelie.
So, on the opposite end...can you run a 14"?
