Rota will have wheels in the country by month end according to Jessica at the Rota Wheel distributor. This is great news. The wheels conform with stock 16" ers ... and can be used in either G or H stock for SCCA autocrossing. Price per set was quoted to me as $490 ...

go to www.rotawheels.com and click the "wheel" icon. from the top, go over three (3) wheels and down four(4) ... and click. the Mini wheels is the Slipstream and the only way you'll find out what colors\combinations is to call Jessi @ Rota. You can also email her: sales@18racing.com

I'm guessing the initial shipment is pretty well spoken for ... if it is, you can custom order what you want.

I've worked with Jessica @ 18racing \ Cosmic Wheels \ Rota - since December of '04. If fact, I'll take credit for bugging them to make the Rota for the Mini Cooper in the 16 by 6.5 size, whether I deserve it or not.

My take is that Jessica is the electronic sales person for Rota - and has considerable knowledge about what we need. She also is in direct contact with the Mfg. which is located in the Phillippine Islands.

They do take credit cards - I used Discover. The fact they ask for an upfront deposit is somewhat uncommon - however, my thoughts are that this is a new wheel size - and the upfront money shows our interest and desire to purchase them. I'll bet when they see the demand is much larger than anticipated, the prepayment will cease.

As far as working with Jessica and Rota wheel, I'm not worried - my only worry is GETTING THE WHEELS !!! God knows we've all waited along time for another vendor to step up to the plate.

I ordered the Rotas from Jessica yesterday. Thanks for your convincing work Mr Crump! She knew very well what wheel I wanted for a MINI. She said they are special ordered individually from the manufacturer. Mine are expected in by the end of July and required a 50% deposit ($245). They also have quite a few nice color options. I'd be interested in seeing these wheels for their light weight and what most will be using them for!! I need some autocross wheels!! The S-lites aren't going to cut it!! Anyone know how much they actually weight??

 

the website works for me. According to the previous post the weight is about 13 lbs. I have not seen an exact weight posted for the 16X6.5's anywhere. I think I saw that the 16X7's are 13.5 lbs.

I have put down a 50% deposit on a set. I will be using mine for autocross.

 

Ahhhh, now the site works for me. Looks like they are the "Slipstream" wheels?? Pretty nice!! Though the extra holed drilled in there to accomidate the other bolt patterns is kind of ghetto. Oh well...
