18" wheels--what size tires??

this place is a fountain of information...so I figured I'd ask.

I'm putting 18's on my MC, it's a daily driver (they'll come off in the winter) so I want a little bit of ride quality.

Here's what I've come up with on tires:

215/35/18 23.93 (have these on my MCS with NO problems even with the car lowered) I'd like a little more sidewall if possible so I need some help.

225/35/18 24.20
215/40/18 24.77
225/40/18 25.09

I'm leaning to the 215/40/18 but wonder if I'll have any rubbing or other issues.

well i just got 18's and i have the same issues. i have 215/35. i think the next time i get new tires i would get 225/35. i would like a wider tire to protect the rim. i dont think the ride quality is going to be that greater with a 40 wall.

My vote would be 225/40/18. The most sidewall protection for the money.. Even if you lower you may only need to trim a little in the back.. Also, lots of tires to choose from and good prices too,.

I would do 215/40/18 out of those choices. but if it was my car, I
would use 215/35/18's.

I'm running with 215-35-18 and thinking about changing to 225-40-18. So do I need to trim the side wall on my MCS. I also have an ALTA spring installed.

no, I don't want any rubbing issues....I'll do the 215/35 before I have any rubbing issues...had that with a Honda once...drove me crazy, and I don't want to trim anything...just want to bolt them up and drive

still leaning to 215/40

If you going for the 215-40-18 for the Front and 215-35-18 for the Rear will work better with your MCS lower.

the lowered MCS already has 18's w/ 215/35/18 on it.

this is for my MC that is not lowered so I want as much tire in the wheel well as posssible and as much sidewall so my ride isn't rock hard. Even though, my 18's with the 35 sidewall are better than any set of run flats
