I disagree about painted calipers. The paint serves to protect the casting. If you look at just about any unpainted calipers, they are always blackened and grimmy. I put two coats of red caliper paint on mine and they stay clean and glossy with minimal cleaning (more than I can say for the wheels
). Not the same thing as a phoney cover serving only to pose as a BBK. A painted caliper is just that...painted and functional

Does this mean I will no longer be invited to Detroit?

Ken, you're always welcome
I should be more specific about caliper paint. There's a huge difference between a "sloppy" (paint all over the wrong parts, too thin and uneven) and a "professional" execution (thorough masking, at least two even coats)
If you don't like red, paint them silver or black...it's still miles ahead of a dirty/pitted casting
I've painted my calipers since the seventies for this reason (I used grill paint back then)...not because anyone even knew what Brembos were back then...
