Back in 2009 these wheels were supposed to work for STX/AS,BS,CS: - SSRComp 17x7.5 4x100 +42 for the front - Kosei K1 17x7.0 4x100 +42 for the rear - All 4 with 235/40/17 Yoko Advan Neova AD07’s (don't get too excited about the tires, age > 10 years)
Rules and regulations change, does anyone know? I'd spend way to much time trying to find the info online so
before I advertise them in the marketplace this way I thought I would check here.
Thanks in advance.
Yes they will work, just not the optimum. Most would prefer 15x7.5 or 8 or 9. 16's would be the second choice, then, 17's, assuming an R-53. I don't think they will fit, stud wise, on an R-56. Too bad you don't have a full set of the SSR's, they would be easy to sell.
Thanks. Makes sense re smaller wheels.
FYI here is what previous owner said "The narrower rear wheel helps the car rotate. Comes with spacers for the front. Tires and wheels won 1st and 3rd in 'o6 RMSolo season STX standings and 1st and 4th in '07.
Yah wish I have 4 SSR's.
Any thoughts on what to price what I have on the marketplace?

I agree with the staggered set up logic, though for 95% of my successful autocross life I've run a square set up. There are advantages to both. I am currently running 225/45/16's in front and 205/50/16's in the rear, all on 8 inch wheels but just got a set of 15x9's for some 225/45/15's for the front and some 15x8's for 205/50/15's in the rear.
I sold a set (4) of 15x7.5 SSR's to a close friend who begged me for them a few years ago, when I was taking a multi-year break from autocrossing, for $900. Another friend told me, two weeks ago, that he knew of a set of 17x7.5's that were for sale for $900. Now that I'm going staggered I'm planning to ask $1000 for one of my remaining two sets of 15x7.5 SSR's. The same wheels fit First gen Miata's (NA's) and some late 80's early 90's Honda's.
The narrower wheel makes for a narrower contact patch, even with the same tire size, in addition to that he has spacers to broaden the front track, to help it rotate.
Thanks gowest for your feedback. Did you ship your wheels? If I need to ship do you have any suggestions? Tires protect the rims but weigh a good deal (when I received them they were shipped individually unwrapped).
I have never shipped wheels. I recommend you go to a store that specializes in aftermarket wheels and ask them for some boxes for 17" wheels. They should have some on a regular basis and be happy to give them away. Try to get all the cardboard and foam packing material that comes with them.
