I agree with ColoCoug - TireRack has been a great resource for me. Thousands of TireRack reviewers provides a more quantitatively valid result than a few, all be it, incredibly knowledgeable forum member's opinions which is excellent qualitative evidence.
What did I just say? - It is time to go home.
That said - if I said anything - the Costco prices look great.
I absolutely LOVE the Firestone Indy 500s. Look them up on tirerack, they have great reviews and are very affordable. I've been running them since we bought the car last year. We're on our second set.
Absolutely, positively check out tire rack reviews. Then buy these tires (slightly wider than stock). Great traction, great mileage. Even good for occasional track days. https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...S3PL&tab=Sizes
I recommend the Continental ExtremeContact Sport, for 205/45/17 they were $130/tire inc. shipping from Tirerack. Installation ran me another $100. For 16s the price should be maybe 40-50 lower. One of the top max performance summer tires (good for dry AND better in wet than A/S contrary to popular belief) that is close behind the performance of the class benchmark Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. I'm on my second set and have no complaints about ride quality, performance, treadlife (got about 20k on my last set)

I bought the same tires. Glad I did. Really enjoyed these tires. Extremely value priced for what you get. If I were to do it all over again I would buy the same Firestone Indy 500's. They handle well, relatively compliant ride and do surprisingly well in heavy rain.

I got the Indy 500's too and it is a sleeper!!! That tire is GREAT! Provides plenty of grip and has really good wear (long lasting) and even has the proper sidewall stiffness one would need for hard cornering or even auto-x. Another thing in the tires favor is that the tread pattern is good and doesn't hydroplane. I will definitely will be buying this tire again, just wish they had a bigger variety of sizes offered.
Thank you all for the feedback. I went with the firestone firehawk like you guys recommended. I wanted to get these about a month ago but work and the hurricane slowed me down. Finally got them installed today.
I found them at tiresplus for $81 a tire. Final cost with installation was $455. Not too bad. I’m pretty happy with the purchase so far.
