want to ask what is thickest spacer you can use on an R52 with stock wheels and not need longer lug bolts and still be hub centric
do u run out bolt length first or hub shoulder

Suggest you post that in the tire and wheel section. I also wonder whether the Tire Rack site is able to address the question by selecting the products you are thinking about.

No, I messed up, you are in the right place. I view so many threads sometimes I forget what section I'm in. The whine doesn't help either . . . .

 

We've used 5mm, but would still recommend going to longer bolts to be safe

Consider swapping to studs and open ended nuts. Length no longer an issue and changing wheels/tires much easier. I am sure one of the vendors here can hook you up.

I had them on my R52, get the new wheel bolts with the extended length matched to the spacers. If you track or swapping out wheels all the time, might be better to go with studs with the spacers.

 

I run 15mm spacers and longer bolts from WMW on my 16" X-84's. It looks great, but the rears *slightly* rub when the suspension is compressed. 13mm or less would probably be fine.

 

Buy wheels with a lower offset.

 

just wanted to mention where i ended up with the spacers on my 2005 R52 with OEM R91 wheels

i am running 10 mm rear hub/wheel centric and 5 mm front non hub/wheel centric (cars hub still catches the wheel and centers it)
with longer bolts front and rear

it gives a nice conservative slightly more aggressive look with no rubbing issues
