Black Kosei K-1 Racing wheels

Anyone ever see a picture or Kosei K1 Racing wheels in black.? Powercoated or painted. I would love to see a picture. Please share or "photo-chop" one for me.
Thanks.

Not true black - but Honda Odysee dark charcoal painted Kosei's on my Cooper S:

Thanks for posting, do you have any other pictures as those are a bit on the dark side and off at an angle.

Thanks.

The only other pics I have right now are a couple from the same session - neither of which are very good pics of the wheels themselves. I'll try to get a couple pics snapped this weekend for ya.

Sorry for the delay! Here's a few more lighter pics of those wheels:

205/40-16's - a bit too narrow for the 7.5" wheels. They're stretched at the sidewall good bit. I'm replacing them with 215/40's in the next week or so - the last autocross test and tune pretty much toasted these.

It looks great! What springs are you on? It also looks like camber is stock, or close to it. Plates in front and adjustable arms in the rear?

Thanks for the compliment. I'm running H&R sport springs with a Madness 3-position bar (set to full stiff) in the rear. No camber plates in front. Stock control arms in the rear (I just rotate my tires alot . :smile. There is a bit of negative camber in the rear (one of the older pics from the rear above show it a little better), but the car handles VERY well. It's just a little outclassed in Street Mod without the limited slip differntial it needs.

Are you THE Minnie Dryver? I love your movies!

Very nice, thanks for posting.

The wheels look like the discontinued anthracite Kosei.

How hard was it to have them painted? How long ago did you have it done? Do they show any significant signs of chipping? How much did it set you back $$$$ ...Were they painted or powdercoated? Is one method advantageous over the other, durability, cost, etc....so many questions....just had my morning coffee..

It wasn't difficult to have them painted at all. I just took them to a local body shop and had them done (they were originally white, and I bought them from a buddy who had them on his Miata). Cost was a little over $200 to have them painted and clear coated. They do have a few minor chips after a year and a half of being painted (and some curb rash on one of them thanks to my wife...), but overall are still in very good shape. I've heard that powdercoating is more durable finish-wise, and similar in cost to having wheels painted and cleared - but I didn't know of anyone in my area who could do them in the color I wanted.

Hope that helps!
