I know that may be a stock wheel, but I would NEVER let anyone put my wheels face down.....

What makes this a "saga"?

It was really only a saga in my mind probably. It took two days to get the wheels on because tirerack had made an incorrect measurement and said that the oem lugs would work, so i didnt order any. So took it to the installer and they had the wheels off and ready to go before realizing they wouldnt fit. Contacted tirerack and they rushed new lugs to me so i could install them next day. Overall a very good experience with tirerack and pepboys (despite taking 2 days to install tires)

What was the difference in the new lug nuts?

MINIs come with wheel bolts, are you using studs with nuts? Was it the lug taper that didn't fit?

sorry I should have said lug bolts, you are right. The head was too big to fit down into the hole on the rim (the hole for the lug). So they had to send a lug with a smaller head (I think the taper was the same conical one). The smaller head also had to use an adapter instead of the standard wrench. I'll take a pic of the adapter when I get a chance, but here are some pics of the "before" with the oem bolts.

edit: the front pic of the rim has a lug bolt in the top hole - you can see how it doesn't fit down into the rim. The second shot shows the back, and how the bolt can't clear the back to be able to install the wheel.

OK, which wheel did you order?

I hope tirerack now knows about this problem and puts it in their notes on fitment.

Thanks for reporting the problem.

Glad you were able to get it addressed so I guess you are right after all, and the saga continues.

I actually called tire rack the first day I tried to have them installed, and they had to "talk to the hardware team" to verify. So they do know about it now. Looks like they've already updated the website too, because it now shows that it includes the require lug bolts for vehicle.

The wheel is a O.Z Racing Formula4 HLT in black. Love the look. Makes me want to have the calipers painted!

I have been looking into this wheel for sometime now and I just read through this thread. After setting my car into tirerack the Formula HLT shows up, but when I click your link and links from google shopping, it takes me to tirerack but says THIS WHEEL WILL NOT FIT YOUR VEHICLE. Any info on this? What would I need to do to mount up a set of Formula HLT I have a '13 R56

^I don't have the wheels, but based on the information in this thread, I think what you should do is change out to the WMW stud conversion kit and run with their moteki studs. They're a bit slimmer than the conical studs so I'm guess that they would fit fine in those damn HLT holes.

This is just a guess! But I think they would work. GL
