........the best! I know it has been said many times over in this forum but I just have to relay my two cents worth. I have had them for a week now and the brake
dust has decreased dramatically.....my V-spoke wheels look great alot longer without needing to be 'simple greened'.

Is it true, Greenstuff pads void your brake warranty?

I like the Green Stuff; they're perfect for street driving. Almost no dust, and a bit better pedal feel than stock.

as for warranty, last I heard, sitting in your car voids the warranty

Ive read somewhere that the front or back can not use wear indicators.
Anyone care to explain that a little more? thanks.

I have a 03MCS with dusty brakes...

I switched to the Green Stuff pads about a week after mounting my white OZ's, nothing shows brake dust more than white wheels. The difference was dramatic and since than I have found one other item that even improves on Green Stuff not only lowering the amount of brake dust further, but also will prevent the staining that some residue brake dust can leave. The product is from Cragar, that's right, the wheel people. Cragar makes a cleaning fluid that you wipe onto your clean wheels and wipe off, the product is called 'Brake Dust Barrier'. Its an anti-static Treatment that guards against pitting and etching that brake dust can cause from the high temperatures your pads get up to from braking. This stuff really works, check it out:

There is a pad wear sensor on one side up front and one side on the rear. The metal base of the stock MINI pads have a little piece cut out in the shape of the pad sensor so the pad sensor can slide and clip in. The EBC pads don't have this little piece cut out, so you can't clip the wear sensor back in -- you just have to tie it off and keep an eye on the pad wear. BTW, Ferrodo pads do have the space for th eclip, so they do work with the MINI sensors.

Thank you for the info. The Ferrodo pads are as minimal dust as the Green pads?

Why can't you just cut out a space for the clip on the green stuff pad's.

MGear,
I polished my wheel's with Zaino Brothers polish before putting them on and the dust from OEM pad's just washes off with the Zaino car wash soap. I wash the car and do the wheels last with a soft sponge. Sounds like a nice product, how long does it seem to last?

I haven't had the chance to take a close look at the brake pads yet,
to tell you the truth...

I just installed EBC front pads last month on my 04.
The current EBC pads have the sensor notch in the front pads.

We are currently waiting for a new shipment of rear pads with the notch.

Of course these pads have been arriving on the next boat every week for the last month, but EBC is producing rears with the notch, they are just not here yet.

Norm03S, the instructions on the bottle tell you to apply the solution every two weeks, but I wash the car at least once a week anyway so everytime I wash I use the stuff. BTW, I too wax my wheels once or twice a season as well.

That's all I'm waiting on too. Don't know who carries them for the 04+ MCS though - Anyone?

Waxing your wheels with whatever brand wax is the best way to get rid of the brake dust. My prefered is the P21 stuff.

Although there is no way to keep up with the dust of the stock pads, I do not know what kind of horse dung they are made from but it is ridiculous.

Just received my EBC Greens and will install this weekend. Mostly to solve the dust problem, a supposed firmer brake feel will be nice also.

Ryan, this has been revised. Warranty is only void if you fart on your seats. Polyurethane foams degrade with exposure to methane gas.

I have a real newb question on these pads.

I noticed the gray area over the actual brake shoes. Is that gray
area the actual kevlar or is that some sort of padding to protect
the face during shipping? It looks fuzzy in the pict so just wondering..

The Ferrodos are pretty good on dust, definitely better than the stock pads. I haven't tried the Green Stuff, so I can't compare them on dust.

BTW, there's no way you could "cut a notch" into the pads for the sensor clip. You'd have to machine cut the pad and the metal backing plate into the precise shape of the sensor clip -- no way it's worth it. Sounds like EBC has addressed this though with its newer version of the pad with the notch for the clip.

Kevlar is just part of the composition of EBC's friction material. Your looking right at the friction material so in otherwards that is your kevlar. The pad will remain similar in shape, but the surface smoothness, and pad color may change under use.

I've heard complaints of the EBC pad warping the rotors on the MINI. Any truth to the matter or just more internet alarmism?

I've had the EBC Greens for over 5K miles with no problems. Biggest thing IMHO to avoid rotor warp is to drive a lower speeds for awhile if you have really heated up the pads/rotors. Don't just park it with hot pads as it will warp the rotors regardless of what kind of pads you are using.

Any feedback on how the EBC's affect rotor wear?

Why does parking a car with hot rotors cause them to warp? I could understand hitting a puddle with relly hot rotors but just letting them sit and cool?
