Wheel locks....

I bought the car used and it looks like it has a strange lug on it...

I've never seen it before and none of my sockets fit it. It seems like it would need to be an EXTREMELY thin wall item.

By looks, can anyone give me a hand on where to go?

I'm heading on a 7 hour trip in the next few days, and with no spare, and no way to get the tire off, I'm a little worried.

Have you checked the boot, see if the previous owner left a key in there? I always keep a spare wheel lock key with the jack & lug wrench.

If there's nothing there, try a wheel/tire shop...they might have a key and be able to get it off for you. You'd obviously need to get a 4th lug for each wheel, or a new set of wheel locks that you have keys for.

As a last resort, I've heard of pounding a socket over the wheel lock, then using a ratchet to remove the wheel lock lug. That destroys the socket (and the wheel lock), but should do the trick.

Is it on all wheels? Only one on each wheel? looks like the lugs on my daughters honda. Check the glove box or with the lug wrench in the back.

That's the first thing I checked. I sweat I searched this car in every nook and cranny for anything I could find. Nothing available.

Ah, that's the issue... this is every lug on every tire. So I'm beginning to wonder if they are actually locks, or just difficult to get at oddly shaped lugs.

I was thinking the same thing, but I couldn't even get a socket on to them. All my sockets are too thick walled. It almost looks like whatever I use needs to be a pronged socket.

Yeah, it's the lug on every wheel... all 4 lugs on each wheel...

I've checked the entire car... no luck.

They are not locks. Just splined lugs a tire shop should have the socket maybe even the auto parts store. They used them on wheels that the holes are not big enough for hex head lugs.

Update...

Looks like they may be KEI Racing lugs...

Also, looks like my rims may be KEI Racing... who knew? (ha! see other thread...)

But I haven't seen a manufactures website for them so that I could track down support or something. Damn it...
