Just recently pulled the trigger and bought 4 r111 wheels, 3 from one source and 1 from another. After getting the wheels on, I noticed the one wheel was glossy black while the other three were matte black/gray.

MINI has the same part number on both, and I've found no distinction online between the two.

Can anyone with the wheel comment on whether or not theirs is glossy or matte?

 

On my 2010 they were definitely not a gloss finish. Matte would have better described them.

 

They should be matte finish, unless someone painted them over again or had one refinished from curbing ?

This is what the first 3 look like. The 4th would have convinced me that it was stock any day of the week if I wouldn't have seen the matte ones right next to it. Off to deal with eBay returns...

They were initially launched with the R57 MINI Convertible as a choice wheel, believe it was a interchange yellow / yellow JCW R57.

 

Definitely my favorite wheel (which is why I bought them of course). The company I got the glossy one from agreed to take a return, so I should have all 4 stock colored wheels this week

 

And actually, I think they look great on all MINIs.
