Falken 912

Just picked up the falken912s and they feel like poo. I've lost all confidence in my car. I'm hoping it's the new tire feel. Anyone share a similar experience?

If the tire feel is vague and it seems to track loosely, perhaps adding 1-2 psi to them may help.

I work at an automotive place and we sell the falken 912's... everyone hates them. I'd never put them on my MINI. I put the goodyear eagle gt's on my MINI and LOVEEEEEE them! sorry

I had the same feeling with Goodyear Eagle GTs lol

I think the initial oiliness just had to dissipate as it got better eventually

like was stated, check the pressures

I'll say that I put new tires on my 79 recently

went out for a test ride and the car was dancing all over the road.

since there had been issues with the mounting and balance (10 inch wheels don't match up to modern equipment) I was prepared to be very irate

but I chilled

and found that a couple of hundred miles helped rip the 'new tire' crap off the tires and then they behaved as I expected..... but my tire was an exact swap .. I didn't expect change

OTOH I just ditched run flats on my 07 for the tire in question . . .

did I ditch RF because I didn't like them? No ... it was a pure cost factor. This tire was the least expensive tire I could find with ready availability (next day)

do the tires ride different? Duh, same size tires but the sidewall has about 1/2 the strength - probably less - yes they ride different.

So what's your actual complaint? The least expensive tire you could buy doesn't ride like the ?? $200++ each ?? one they replaced?

Well i went from the eagle gt to this tire. Was told by my tire dealer that it was similar so i made the mistake and trusted them. The tire was only a couple dollars cheaper then the price i paid for the eagle gt. After talking to falken today i should've never been put on that tire. Price wasn't the issue when i bought this tire. Ive driven on falkens before and trusted the tire. Falken is recommending the 452 or a new tire, the pt722. So tomorrow i talk to firestone.

I also love Eagle GTs. Unfortunately they don't last very long!

A tire dealer might not know to fill the tire to 38 psi. Also all new tires are squirlly compared to ones with little tread. If they inflated them to the more standard 32psi, there may be hope for you yet.

How many miles are you all getting on a set of the Eagle Gt's. I put them on my S2000 and had a lil over 30,000 miles on em when i traded it. That's about the most i've ever gotten out of a tire so i thought it was great.

I had them on my RX7 and got just under 30,000 miles. I think around 27,0000.
