spare wheel

i have decided to get rid of my runflats and get michelin pilot sport a/s. My dilemma is where do I get a spare wheel from or fix a flat maybe. Any ideas would be welcome. MCS,205/45 x 17

Yes, 1 spare tire, ready to go.
If you have BBK this tire won't fit.

I carry a Slime kit with me to repair flats. It’s around $59 at your local Wallmart. http://bit.ly/b6cLE1

Or, you could use Tyre Guardian. It’s also suppose to work fine with modern tire pressure systems (TMPS). It works on the opposite principle of green goop like Slime. You add the liquid to your tires before you have a flat. Matter in fact, it's suppose to last the life of the tire. Here's their website for more info: http://www.tireguardian.com/ I don’t know how reliable this product is over time. I know slime works, it’s just messy.

Good morning!
I'm new here - not new to the world - and I have a couple questions along these same lines: I recently bought an '09 Clubman S JCW that has had the runflats replaced with conventional Kumhos, and I'd really like a spare to fit the rears only (if I have a flat in the front, I'll just swap wheels & tires around, put the spare on the rear).
Is there a wheel that will (a) fit over the rear brakes, and (b) mount a tire that will fit in the spare tire well?
I don't care if the tire is way undersized: it would only be a temporary measure.
Question #2: If there's not a full-size, does anyone know if the space-saver spare sold by for example Mini-Mania will fit the rear of this car?

TIA,
R
PS: OK, question #3: Opinions on a tire for long tread life? This car is mostly used for commuting/ferrying kids around/runs to the grocery, not track days or street racing.

Makes sense. You had asked if there is a wheel and a tire that will fit in the well. I was just thinking, Yes, the OEM one will.

I thought that they came with one regardless. Further research proves me wrong.

The space saver one should fit. I have also heard Chevy Cobalt ones work well and are more inexpensive than MINI stuff

Thanks, but no, the OEM tires (meaning the ones on the ground, right?) will not fit in the spare tire well because they're just over an inch too large in diameter. Inflated, anyway; although I have been tempted to deflate one and see if it can be crammed in there. After all, I do have that little compressor...

I've seen several threads discussing using one space-saver spare or another, but I guess my real question is whether the JCW-package has larger rear brakes than the std 'S' model, and would therefore interfere with a space-saver (or other) wheel that would otherwise fit on an MCS?

Your rear brakes are the same as ones on a MCS. A donut spare will fit over the rear brakes.

Give Chad a call at Detroit Tuned

I bought a spare tire from him for my Clubman S. I don't know if he has one that will fit a JCW.

Thank you, sir!
That's the answer I needed.

Knowing that, I can go for a donut, or else try to find some other MCS-fitting wheel with a tire that goes under about 23" in diameter.

Thanks again,
- R

PS: I got the key away from wife and *I* am driving the Mini today!!!

Thanks for the tip; they have a good deal going on a space-saver spare.

I purchased the spare from Detroit Tuned. I've yet to put in my Clubman because I still need to find a bolt to hold it in. I also want to figure out a way to keep the Styrofoam insert that fits in the spare wheel well. Oh, my clubman didn't come with a jack so I need one of those as well!
