Tire rubbing issues

so i am running 17x7.5 wheels with 215-45/17 tires on my s. i am having some bad rubbing issues. the plastic fenders and the tires just keep rubbing.
i have to say that it really annoys me that the fenders are plastic and not not metal.
if they were metal i could roll them out a bit.
there are no good after market plastic fenders that do not require extensive body modifications that i can find.
any recommendations?
can i trim the stock flares down a bit?

You can trim the stock fenders. Or you can just wait for them to work themselves out. Eventually they will stop rubbing.

What suspension are you running, and what is the offset on the wheels?

ALT 279 with a 35mm offset.
Suspension is stock.
I'm kind of bumbed because the guy I talked to at Out Motoring said they would not have any rubbing issues.

I had the same issue when I went to 215/45/17 and H&R springs, but it works itself out pretty quickly.

35mm offset isn't helping the situation.

I have 225s W/42mm offset on 7" wide wheels & I had to do some carving on the back bumper, fender liners, and arches for clearance.

Maybe 215/40-17 tires would help from rubbing.
