On my MCS I have 17" wheels and I am looking at putting Proxes T1S's on and I don't know which will fit the best. I am looking at two sizes: 205/40ZR17 and 215/45ZR17, which will fit best on stock rims and the Exel TZ-10 with an offset of 42mm. The car is not lowered. Thanks for your help.

stock is 205/45-17

Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revs/Mile Difference
205/45-17 3.6in 12.1in 24.3in 76.2in 831 0.0%
205/40-17 3.2in 11.7in 23.5in 73.7in 860 -3.3%
215/45-17 3.8in 12.3in 24.6in 77.3in 819 1.5%

215/45-17 is the better choice of the two..

Please ....confirm w/ Alex of tirerack

D,

Thanks for the help, I appreciate it very much. I love your Tenzo RS5's, where did you get them, if you don't mind?

Jason

I would agree with D. When you can try to get the same size as stock, 205/45-17 but depending on which tire it is not always possible.

I'm using 215/45-17 and that is what I would recommend of the choices above.

Jason,
I got the Tenzo's at a speed shop here on LI.
They were approx.... $180 each./installed.
No problems at all w/ em and they hold up well w/ the NY potholes...etc

Peace,
D

They are sweet, they help complete the polished look of your MCS.

You may want to check on what sizes are available in the T1S. I'm running the Proxes T1S in 215/40-17 on the SSR Comp 17 x 7.5 rim.

No fitment problems at all, and it's a great tire. I have them on 3 of my cars and love 'em.

Anyone have any problems running a 215/45/17 on a 17X7 wheel with H-sport springs?

I have a 2005 MCSa for reference.
