Will the wheels fit?
Will the wheels fit?
First of all I hope this post is in the right section...Anyway, I want new wheels but need to be sure they will fit before I buy. I'm running 17x7.5 with a 38 offset now with 205/45 size tires. Now the size I want to buy are 17x8 offset 35mm in the front and 17x8.5 offset 28mm in the rear. Tire sizes will be 205/40/17 for both front and rear. My car is lowered as far as it can go on H&R coils but I can set that where I need it to be. I think they will fit based on a wheel offset calculator but I want NAM's opinion. From what I can tell with my set-up now I have maybe 16mm from tire to wheel well or suspension. So please give me your input, Thanks in advance, Christian
The fronts will fit, the rear may see some rubbing especially riding as low as you can. Check out the marketplace, there are a set up wheels in similar size and offset to what you are looking for, for sale. Try asking the seller for fit pics...
Thanks Rally. Do you by chance have any pics with a 17x9 in the rear? If that works well I would rather go the extra half inch. Whats a good size tire then... I would like some stretch! I can cut/trim the plastic flares if need be, but I just don't want anything rubbing the inside wheel well or front suspension. Plus I want to pick up a set of front camber plates for a few degrees of neg. camber so I can tuck the tire in the wheel well.
You gotta come hang out on motoringunderground.com if you're looking to get into aggressive wheel fitments and stretch
There's a bunch of us over there pushing the boundaries on stance and we're always open to discuss fitment.
205/40 works well. 215/40 if you step up to 9's
this car is running 17x9 et25 215/40's in the rear: http://www.motoringunderground.com/f...t=3980&page=21

OK, so I'm set on some 17x8's for the front with 205/40's. Now in the back I could go 17x9 like Rally said, but that example was with a et25. The wheels I'm looking at getting would come in a 17x9 with a off-set of 27 or 22. Which should I go with? I would use the 215/40 tire size in the rear. A tire size calculator says that a et27 will give me 8mm less inner/ 30mm extra poke. A 22 will give me 3mm less inner/ 35mm extra poke. Which should I go with??? Or should I just stick with the 17x8.5's in the rear? I belive I have about 16mm of room from the rear rim backside to fender liner with my 17x7.5 et38 set-up now. I'm thinking the et22 because I could still get some tuck? It has to be slammed! haha.
Thanks again guys, Christian

Sorry got the numbers switched, your right. But any clue on what off set to go with? I guess you can say I'm looking for someone that has ran something close to this or know of a set-up that has been used and works. I would like to order the wheels soon, but don't want to make a few thousand dollar mistake
Thanks!!
Thanks!!
