Interesting wear pattern
Interesting wear pattern
My current tires are at the end of their life. 3 of the 4 are on the wear bars and I was inspecting them to see how much tread was actually left. I noticed the very inner edge had more wear than the rest of the tires (see photos below). What would cause this? Aggressive driving on standard alignment? Suspension compliance from worn bushings?
Other than this, the rest of the tire looks to be wearing evenly. Much better than the stock runflats at the end of their life.

I am interested in the responses you might get with this question. I have heard that the wear pattern you show is normal for this car. Not sure if that is true or not, but I am also wondering if a cross pattern for rotation might make the tires wear more evenly.
Yep... camber wear. The rears will do this to some degree no matter what, given the stock negative camber in the rear. If the fronts are doing it, you may have an alignment issue... here's an extreme case on my original runflats:

FWIW, I do NOT recommend anyone drive tires until the belts are showing.... mine went REALLY quickly from no belt to this condition (a few days).

Cool. I was expecting camber wear to be a little more gradual but it definitely makes sense. These tires have over 30k miles on them and have been rotated a few times in their life. I'm going to be getting new one's very soon. I'll get an alignment done too. Thanks.
