H&R Wheel Spacer...I am confused

So I just received a set of H&R 5mm Trax+ Wheel Spacers Part# 1024562. 100/4, 56.1mm center bore for my 2005 Mini Cooper S. Needed spacers to fit over the TSW MDM BBK for my winter 17" S-Lite Wheels

However I have 2 questions:
-1) The dont have the lip on them where I would think they would "center" the wheel..which I believe would be called "hub centric"? They instead are beveled/counter sunk.
-2) Which side goes towards the brake rotor/hub? The beveled or flat side?

Is this right?

Looks like maybe the protruding hub centering ring is only on wider spacers like these...

http://www.promini.com/product-exec/...arch_model/100

"All RaceMax wheel spacer thicker than 12mm are machined to include the protruding hub centering rings which will always center your wheel for proper wheel balance."

Correct, spacers need to be thick enough in order to have enough strength to support the hub centric lip... I am actually running 11mm Custom Front Spacers, and I think that's the thinnest they can be and have a machined lip..
You can get custom spacers from Skulte performance, that Is where I got mine machined..
Otherwise, you have to line them up visually and tighten them down centered..

The intent is that the 5mm spacers are thin enough that the hub snub still comes through the spacer and the wheel will still hub-centrically center on the protruding snub.

I would put the flat side towards the brake/hub. However, it probably does not matter much.

The beveled side goes towards the hub. Flat side out. The bevel is there to provide clearance for the radius at the hub center.
Then, I use a bit of silicone sealer to attach the hub-centric ring to the wheel.

That makes sense for the bevel facing the hub. Thanks for correcting me.

Cool and 40% chance of rain, in the 50s. Could be a real nice day to run the MINI at 8/10s.

Take care, nice track but some tricky spots.

Who are you running with or taking advantage of the open lapping day?

Don

Not flat out all the time, driving fast with absolute control or not.

Have a good time, I was out visiting but not lapping last Friday, nice track, looks very fast.
