Has anybody able to install there aftermarket rims with out a virbration problem????

I have a set of AMERICAN EAGLE MSR 113 rims, and well they don't make any Hub rings for this rim, I have to get some custom made I guess, but if I can have them installed with out virbrations then I going to go head and not have any Rings. I know that the hub on the Mini is 56.1 mm though, any thoughs on this?

mobygjc,

I've had some vibration issues with my ADR wheels and I narrowed it down to a bad set of rings I recieved locally. I just ordered a new set from http://www.prestigewheel.com which corrected the problem. It looks like they offer every hub centric ring possible. Give Allen a call and he can find you the correct rings. The hub bore is 56.1 for the Cooper but you will need the wheel hub size as well.

Good Luck!

Jason

where in the country are you located? if you take the wheel to a tire shop, they can measure the hub bore of the wheel. if it's 72 or 73 mm, i know they make hub rings to fit.

for cheap hub rings call the guys at tires.com (which is discount tire direct), they sell hub rings for $10 but you have to call them on the phone, they are not listed on the website.

the only wheel i know of that uses a 'customer' hub ring size are some of the Volks, my 4x100 Volks use a 65mm hub bore, which was impossible to find except from Volk.

I got my hub rings at Wheel Tec of Tampa 813.886.8700, 813.901.8200

My MSR 116's were around 73mm also, and Wheel Tec had them in stock & knew about the MINI hub ring issue. Measure your wheels, or call American Eagle/MSR for specs & then give WT a call.

Here are distributors for AE/MSR wheels in your area:
http://www.aewheel.com/distributors.cfm?state=NJUS
http://www.aewheel.com/distributors.cfm?state=NCUS

here's a place with a list of available hub ring sizes for reference, and how to measure:

I was told to expect some vibration but never did. I ordered hub rings anyway from 1010.tires.com, just in case at later date there was some problem. Anyway, the wheel manufacturer or vendor can tell you the diameter of the wheel you've got (mine is 73.1 mm) and we know the Mini hub is 56.1 mm. So I ordered hubcentric rings that are 56.15 mm (a hair bigger than the hub) by 73 mm (slightly smaller). They came in the mail (from Canada) and are of alloy construction -- and a PERFECT fit.

Thanks for the write up Redleg,

I orderd my Centric Rings from Ae, they said that the rim was 73m, (Might be 73.1 like your red) and they got my mini hub right 56.1m (I think it was 56.15) So if it worked for you, I don't see why it won't for me. I am finnally not stress out as much as I was. Talk about a Nightmare to find the right ones. Thanks for everyones help, as soon as they come in the mail I see if they fit the rim, fitting the car, I'll have to wait for NOV, when it comes.

Cheers

They will fit very snugly. You do not want to damage the hubrings when installing. Take your time & wiggle the wheel gently onto the hub. It will probably still not be completely seated when you put on the bolts. Snug the bolts down to evenly draw the wheel onto a seated position on the hub manually. Use a good torque wrench on the bolts. Re-torque after 23-30 miles.
