Thoughts on these wheels
Hey all:
It is time to get new wheels, and like many I'm going back and forth on possibilities. Yesterday I found some that looked really good up against the MINI, but it turns out the maker -- Five Axis -- is closely identified with Lexus, Scion and Nissan show cars and most recently wheels. Does it seem a weird mix -- or is that good?
The orange accent in it looked really good with the green MINI, so no worries there...
Thanks all for any thoughts.

I wouldn't put those on my MINI for two reasons.
1) Aesthetically, I don't like that some of the spokes are set closer than others. I see the affect they were trying to obtain, but they should have made the distances more dramatic. The difference is so little, it almost looks like a mistake.
2) Those would be a real biotch to clean. Look at those indentations between every other spoke. They spell "work". No thanks !

Seems to be "universal" dislike of the universal lugs.
The wheels I went in to see -- MSR 092s -- wouldn't take the MINI's configuration; I wish it had had the universal set up!

Also not a fan of the extra stud holes.
While it "may" pass the required tests for strength, the additional holes "still" weakens the center of the wheel over just a single hole.
There's a couple of wheels that I like, but would never buy because of that ...poor design. In my opinion of course..!

I've been noticing that a LOT lately. I attribute it to the forum format with the "related thread" response window at the bottom of the page... stupid layout...
