tire sealant
Im strongly leaning torwards using non-run flat tires on my R90's and since
my ride is a cooper-S, idont have a spare.
I hear fix-a-flats are not good for low profile tires as it does not fill up
the tire very well due to the narrow sidewalls. I tend to carry around my
12v air compressor with me, but do not have a tire sealant yet.
which tire sealant do you guys recommend I buy?
thanks.

fix a flat tends to be a great roadside alternative.
2 things -
it makes clean up a real pain when your installer puts on a new tire.
This is only a temperary solution. get things replaced ASAP

would it damage the wheel at all do you think? hope the installer
would not be using metal scrapers to scrap off that stuff...scratch and
damage the interal rim.

Alex: Do you recommend a brand of tire goop? Does Tirerack sell any?
This kit looks decent... it's "mini" brand goop. (but no experience with it)
http://new.minimania.com/web/Item/NMA4015/InvDetail.cfm
Or you could get the factory spare. it's ~$100

If you get the factory spare (the space saver) do you just leave it in the boot on the MCS or can you still mount it underneath?

There is no room in the engine compartment for the battery,
on the S the battery is where the tool kit is located in the boot, sunk beneath the car. The exhaust splits between the battery.
So, you'd have to leave it in the boot.

yah, unless you're going cross-country where your celphone may not get reception, just carry the 12v cigarette lighter and fix a flat. otherwise, take your spare with you in the boot. hope noone gets catastrophic tire failure though in the wild...
Alex and Others:
Hummm....I don't mean to be 'cool' towards the answer to this issue...but, anytime I've had a flat and have pumped Fix-a-Flat into the tire, I've informed the installer what I've done. Under the circumstances of owning an S with non-run flats, there is no other option. I have one non-run flat and three run flats. As the run flats 'die,' they'll be replaced with non-run flats. They're cheaper and offer a softer ride.
Peace!

I was thinking of trying to fit the spare from a regular cooper and mounting it where my old muffler was. I have an NRP exhaust and the driver side muffler is gone. Has anyone thought of doing something like this? I am unsure if it will fit. Otherwise, I was going to carry the spare in the boot. The boot is already tight anyway. On long travels with company, I usually have the seats down for luggage.
