Work VS-XX query

Just wondering if you can fit a Schmidt outer rim to VS-XX wheels? I want to buy a set of VS-XX but my wife is worried that because kerbing is inevitable (I just can't seem them in the dark!!), the high price is not worth it. I'm hoping to get around this by fitting those indestructible schmidts

Any help is appreciated

You can E-mail them directly and ask as they are a very helpful bunch . I think since I last talked to them that they make lips for limited wheels (like BBS).

so to be on the safe side, you should ask the manufacturer. (on another note, I would love to see 8.5" VSXX )

Thanks Ca$per I desperately looking for some new mesh wheels and these are top of list but kerbing $3.5k wheels is a scary thought

I won't be running wider than 8"

I'm 95% sure it won't work. Schmidt won't do the radinox in custom sizes and they only sell them for the cult style wheels like BBS or OZ. Their lips also are flat rather than stepped lips like the schmidts.

It will all come down to inner diameter, number of bolts, and bolt spacing...but I doubt any of the schmidt lips or BBS lips translate to the VS-xx with all those bolts.

That's a cool looking Mini for sure. Having just moved to a single oval tip though, I must admit to NOT having tip envy... Isn't 4 about 3 too many?

And the stock bumpers lol. I wonder what the tire size is, they look beefy.

Anyone know what specs the VS-XX are in the picture I posted? I'm about to place an order for a set and want that exact look for the wheels.

TIA

His wheels were 18x7.5. I have no idea what the offset was on them though. Probably something high judging by their fit.

Thanks Rally - the disk available from stock is A-disk which has a 50mm lip but judging from that pic, those wheels look to have a smaller lip which is what I prefer. Anyone care to chime in? I haven't got long to place my order before the prices go up on Thursday, I think.

If those wheels are 18x7.5 then they have an ET45 with a 37mm lip. In my opinion if you don't want staggered and nothing too extreme an 18x8 ET38 with the 50mm lip will look way hotter.

IMO the point of custom wheels is to do things differently, 18x7.5 ET45 is the norm for 18" wheels on the MINI, just a thought...

Thanks Wake - I just really like the look of the wheels with the face close to the outer edge. You don't if the guy was running a BBK do you?

I doubt he was. That pic is from early 03 back when there really weren't many BBK's available. I'm pretty sure he sold off the car or something cause he never really posted after those pics.

Thanks for all your help

I still haven't decided on the fitment - wanna play safe and get the 18x7.5" et 45 but am toying with the idea of et32 with 50mm lip - would this sit proud of the fenders or flush? I'm going for the Gold centres.

This is what my car currently looks like

18x7.5 ET32 would sit flush with the fenders, maybe a few mm's inside. I think gold centers would look pretty sick on your ride. Do slam it proper though.

Thanks - 5zigen ZR520+ (in my sig )

I'm thinking of going et35 50mm lip for the rears and et45 37mm lip at the front - this should work shouldn't it? I'm running a BBK so I need a bit of scope for the fronts, otherwise it'd be 50mm alll the way

That'll work. I'm almost positive a 50mm lip ET35 will work for the front as well though. Hopefully someone with experience with BBK's will chime in.
