Persuade me... please
This coming spring I am going to buy wheels for my '06 R50, but can't decide. I thought I would go with the Team Dynamics Race 1.2's in black, but now I am not so sure. I also like the Motegi Racing SP10's in black.
Both are about the same weight. The SP10's are cheaper, which is great. The 1.2's are great wheels for autocross' and stuff. Are Motegi's of similar quality as the 1.2's?
hmmmmm....
Anyone?
Also, what would you recommend for good summer tires?

Team Dynamics hands down.
They're great quality, and very VERY lightweight. They're worth every penny.

The weight is the same on the Motegi and the Team Dynamics.

I can't really attest to their quality. Do they have a warranty? If so, I would compare the warranties. You may also want to call and chit chat with places that sell both. I know Aaron at Outmotoring uses the 1.2's on his car. He'd be a good guy to talk to about TD. But I don't really know any MINI owners who use (or have used) Motegi. The Motegi 7 spoke seems to be pretty popular among the Japanese car guys here in town.
I would opt for the Motegi's, as the Team Dynamics don't have a good track record for staying in one piece on the racetrack. Add to that the Motegi's have a sleeker look, lower price, and are backed by Tire Rack and you have a winner.

Tirerack says they are a bit lighter than the Motegi site, so who know for sure, but they are light.
I am leaning towards the Motegis now.
So what would you all recommend for a good summer tire. I have heard two different sides of many tires. But what do you think?

Too much money for me, although they are my favorite wheels out there.
I have made up my mind on the Motegis....I think.
So what about tires. Any suggestions? We are talking summer performance.
Yeah, I have nothing against Motegi. I almost bought a set myself when I was shopping for summer rims.
On tires...
I like Yokohama rubber, personally. It's inexpensive and good quality with great performance. I have the Parada Spec II's, but I think the most common is the S Drive.
My opinion on the Paradas... OUTSTANDING grip, good tread life, very noisy, great price ($80ish/tire). I've been running these since I got the TD's.
I've heard good things about the S Drives, but have not had any personal experience.

SP-10s
No clue on the rubber. I liked the grip of the Yoko Parade Spec II when I ran them but they are VERY noisy. I also liked the grip of the BFG KDW T/A 2 when I ran those but they too can be kind of noisy...

Yeah, I know a guy who has the Parada Spec 2's and he likes the grip but not the noise. So...I guess I will go with the S. Drives. Thanks everyone. I will have pics up this spring of the whole new setup.
