205/55/R16

I'm changing tires from the BS runflats to dunlop direzzas and was wondering if the tire sizes 205/55 or 215/55 are proper? the car is lowered on H&Rs with the stock 16 inch S-winders

I would go with 205/50 or 215/50, 55s might be to much sidewall but a lot depends on your wheels and the look/ride your trying to achieve.

I have 205/50 Falken 912s currently and just lowered with TSW R56 Performance springs. I will be putting a set of 205/50VR16 Goodyear F1 GS-D3 on in early Spring.

Just my thought.

I'm thinking of doing the 215's with 55s it should have a nice aggresive lower stance and look mean[er]. yeah I get what your saying about the sidewalls but the rims are only 16's so the 55's should fill up the gap a little more...

You're cheating - the Goodyears don't have the weight of the car on them yet.

Note: I just went from the OEM runflats to the 205/50-16 Goodyear F1, and they look MUCH nicer. And don't squeal while traversing onramps.

215/55/16 will be significantly larger than stock and thus it will RAISE the car. I'm not sure it will give it a "nice aggressive lower stance"

That size will raise the car close to half an inch higher off the ground than stock. Just a heads up.

I'm happy with 205 55 16 Michelin Pilot Exalto's. Look great, handle great, ride smooth and still have enough sidewall to keep the tires from beating your brains out. They fill the wheel well nicely with no rub issues.

I have 205/55/16's, fills the wheel wells nicely. Stock sport suspension with no rub issues, even with 4 aboard, at all. I actually like the "little more sidewall" look.

205/50/16 will be almost exactly same height as default 195/55/16. 205/55 will be a bit higher, slightly more comfortable but handle slightly less well. And the look will be a bigger sidewall for sure. I just bought a set of those Eagle F1s in 205/50/16. An amazing deal. But I live in NJ - so they are not going on until April.

You could do 205/45/16 if you want but that affects other things. Chat w/ Alex at Tirerack to clarify what you want and he'll get you there.
