Necessary to replace rotors on first pad change?
Instead of starting a new thread I figured I would ask here.
I have to replace both my front and rear rotors as I autocross and track my car a few times a year. I have the new rotors and all I need is some advice on how to go about the actual change. I have replaced pads a few times and know the drill, but have never done the rotors. Any pointers like special tools I should have at hand and such?
INFO: R53 2005
Thanks!

Key tool needed is a T-50 torx bit for the retaining screw. Note that these have been known to be VERY difficult to remove, and even snap off. When reinstalling the screw, use some anti-seize.
Otherwise, they just come right off.

Seems like aftermarket replacement rotors for pre-2007 minis are readily available. I'm coming up on replacing my front pads (and perhaps rotors) on my 2007 MCS. It's got the larger front rotors. Anyone know if aftermarket larger rotors are available anywhere? I would sure like to save some bucks by not buying the OEM ones.
I am looking at the Bentley service manual right now and it has a table for brake rotor specifications. It says:
Front brake rotor thickness:
New: 22 mm
Wear limit: 19mm
Rear brake rotor thickness:
New: 10 mm
Wear limit: 7 mm
I am planning on replacing my MCS's brake pads this weekend and will not be replacing (or resurfacing) the rotors. My fronts are at 20.5 mm and rears at 8.7 mm. 58K miles on the car.

Who are you going to believe? BMW/MINI or Bently?
If you are already down to 20.5mm then you will be replacing the rotors after another 0.1mm of wear for the fronts and another 0.3mm of wear for the rears.
The would be about 3,600 more miles for the front rotors and about 10,000 more miles on the rear, given the same wear rate.

I think the Bently manual is wrong. I have looked at the rotors on my 2006 MCS and they clearly state, front, min. 20.4mm, rear min. 8.4mm.
