Question about the R98

Hi:
Just wanted to know if the R98 wheels were made for 2nd gen. ('07-up) MINIs or were they available as an option for 1st gen '02-'06? Seems like all the ones I've seen are either in 2nd gen. MINIs or they were bought from 2nd gens. and installed in 1st. gens.

Thanks

The R98 Web Spoke wheel has been around since the first-gen cars, but the R90 Cross Spoke didn't hit the scene until about a year ago.

the R90 has been around since at least the MC40 that was sold in 2004.

Hmm - good to know. Maybe it's only the black R90 that came out last year?

Thanks for the correction.

The silver R90 was available before MINI's were even here in the US (2002). The anthracite came out with the MC40 in 04 as you mentioned.

Strangley, I have always thought the R98's look better than the R90's. Funny, since the R90's seem to be more popular than the R98's.

Now If I could just get a set of barrels to replace 2 nicked up ones that I have.

For the R98's? You could always call Ronal and ask for replacements barrels.
