Konig Feathers, opinions?
well these Konig Feathers in black might be my next set of rims for my 08 PW MCS. They look so good
Now just to clarify, I have an R56 when I order will Konig send me the right 14mm lug hole wheels? I'm trying to find more specs on the wheels so I can make sure I order the right 14mm lug fitment and will the 40mm offset be ok to go with as well.

I ordered some from discount tire, 17x7 40mm, they came in the 14mm bolt holes, you can see them in the show me your wheels thread. should be on the last page

Yuppers, I've kept 5mm spacers w/ mine (16"). At my height / camber, they can't go any further out without serious rubbing. Flush enough for me.
Probably aesthetic creations - they make those same ones. Lyle with Vinylstyles also makes them.
My Feathers (capless) until I can get a hold of something similar:

Also, if you compare my pic to the one above mine, you'll see why I painted my rotor hats black. I hate the factory dove gray.

weren't my first choice, but they've grown on me and since one of them survived completely falling off the car (!), I assume they're strong enough to live with as my daily driving wheels [note: never ever trust discount tire to know what they are doing!]. Not the best photos, but:

lowered ~2.5" and center caps have since been removed

You're right on the money about Discount tire ! LOL !
Not to be a buzzkill but it has nothing to do with Discount Tire per se... it's the employee that handled your car. ANY tire shop can/will screw up from time to time. Watch 'em like a hawk!
I agree, Any tire shop employee has the ability to screw up a job although, all my tire and wheel "horror story's" come from Discount tire (employees)
Newbi here in the tire/wheel forum. I have never replaced a set of rims before, only tires so I have a few questions.
After seeing all your cool pics, I am seriously considering getting a set of matte black konig feathers. Can someone help me out with some basic questions?
1. My tires are basically new (2 weeks) and i want to reuse my runflats. How much does it generally cost to have someone replace the rims on my car (take off the wheels, take off the tires, move the pressure monitoring system, put on the old tires on the new rims, balance, etc).
2. Can any tire store do the work or do I need to take them somewhere that specializes in runflats?
3. Where's the best place to order these rims? How much should I expect to pay to have them delivered to California?
Thanks in advance!

To avoid wheel fall off I would suggest as I do
BYOTW = bring your own torque wrench!!
94 ftlbs and never had a failure.
BTW discount techs don't like it when they pull your Mini out of the bay and bring it around to you and the first thing you do is check the torque, but when 2 out of 4 lugs moves per wheel they just walk away! Besides we don't like our wheels falling off so too bad for them.

Ok a simple, simple question for those that have recently purchased their Feathers from Alta (since I'm very very close to pullin the trigger on these, or possibly the Motegi Sp10 in hyper black). On Alta's page, they say, "Fits both 12mm and 14mm Bolt Holes on both late model and early model MINI." Is this true, or not? Being a 02/2004 build car, I'm assuming I'm a 12mm (its dark still, haven't bothered to go out and check yet) so it would be nice to know ahead of time if any other hardware is needed.
oh and they say they include the optional center caps, true or false?

On the receipt, it says drilled for 14mm as like a comment almost. Im almost positive it will fit our pre 2006 cars though.. i havent fitted mine yet.
Hmmm, thanks for the info. And I have an email out to their tech guys, so I'll wait until I get a word back from them on the 12mm vs 14mm thing or someone else happens to chime in with more information.
Received a set of four feathers from Alta a few months ago. Included are the center caps and centering rings. Packing slip said all four were drilled out for 14mm but after I had my tires dismounted and remounted on the feathers I found out two wheels were 12mm and would not go on my car. They say they were checked before they were sent out but obvously not. Told me to just drill them out myself or if I didn't have a drill bit they would send me one on loan. Not happy with that solution. What if you don't have the drill and bit or you screw the job up, what then? I didn't think it was up to me to fix it, I ordered and paid for wheels with 14mm lug holes and that's what I expect to have. Finally had a custom wheel company drill them out for me and Alta offered me twenty dollars in compensation (cost of sending drill bit both ways they said). Cost me a chunk more then that to have them drilled out. Overall I like the wheels. I did not like the trouble or cost to make it right nor do I feel it was made right.

wow.. that does not sound like good customer service. Alta should have simply sent you two replacement wheels drilled for 14mm.
