I have an 07 MCS with 17" web spoke wheels. They appear to be two piece wheels and that seems to agree with what I've found by searching the forum.

My wife recently hit a pot hole and there's a slight dent in the outer rim. The question I have is, is it possible to replace just the outer rim since it's a two piece wheel? I guess that's actually a two part question, i.e. is it mechanically possible to replace just the rim of the wheel and if so, are the rims available separately.

You can't buy the outer polished ring separately.
I have a spare Web Spoke that I was saving for a spare. I no longer have the set, so I don't need the spare. BUT, it has the 12mm lug holes, not the 14mm ones that are on your R56.

 

2 piece wheel, 8mm triple square bit, i torqued mine at 28lbs, remember bluloctite

 

Post a picture of the dent.

You can get it repaired by a wheel repair specialist.

Wow, thanks so much for the links. The place referred to in the audiworld link, Wheel Collision Center just happens to be about 5 minutes from where my wife works. How do you like that for dumb luck! She's stopping by there today to have them take a look at it.

I was pretty clear about saying "barrel", not "polished lip", which is part of the barrel. Different question entirely.

 

wait, so you understand that the barrel IS part of the lip. so you already know the answer then, no?

the barrel and the lip are one whole piece. Can't buy either the barrel or the centers separate unfortunately.
