I went to the O.Z. Website and it says they have a White Superlaggera in a 4x100 lug pattern in 17", does anyone know of a dealer who carries them in the US. Can I special order them from the TireRack?

I actually have the OZ racing Prodrive P1's in white. Vdubdoug just got a set of the Suprlegg's though. You may want to contact Alex @ tirerack for availability...

I did justy double check. the wheel your inquiring about is the OZ Superleggera Corsa. Its not longer made, or available. I have asked OZ to update their site!

P.S, - DandP's car does look awesome!

Alex

Thanks for the input Alex, I will just have to hope you still have some of the Prodrive P1's in stock in 8 months when my MCS comes in, I am not going to hold my breath though.

Stock is VERY limited! if you like these, I'd snag them now, at $149 each wheel!
call to order - PS being that I don't handle prodrive anymore, when they are gone they are gone!

The Team Dynamic Pro Race 1's are another option to the OZ wheels. They run around $169 per corner and weigh in at 17lbs.

Just to throw a little confusion on the fire... the Superleggera Corsa's are discontinued, but the Superleggera's are still in production and will be available for all of '03. You can get the Superleggera's in white in the following sizes: 14x6 15x7 and 16x7. I was told that the production runs for the white wouldn't start until june and would ship sometime in august. I believe (searching for confirmation as i only had one source on this) but they are/have been loaded and are on there way to dealers in europe, asia and down under. I haven't been able to find any info if they are going to be available here.

Now this could be just really bad info I recieved (not sure??) it was enough for me to give up searching for them in white and after seeing pictures of dandp's wheels, i bought the same OZ/Prodrive P-1's with S-03's from Alex. Wow what a difference, dump the run flats as fast as you can! I can't even put into words how much better this set up is.

Pain in the butt verification system they have at the tire rack, but if that is what we have to do so everyone is happy and can stay in business, so be it.... Talk about turnaround time, placed order online, talked to Alex to verify address and telephone numbers the following morning, shipped that day, on the 3rd day they arrived at 11:00am on the car by noon!!

just my .02 cents, will post if i find out anything new...

ok, it is really early and caffine still hasn't been absorbed yet and yes i am replying to my own message!

1. Seems that this isn't the first run for these rims in white, they are a "limited edition" color and I'm not sure what that exactly means to the Italians but they are in the states and people seem to have them in stock.... thus suggesting "limited" means we are just going to make them randomly and with out warning.
2. they also come in a 17x 7 4/100 et37mm 15.4 lbs (which ironically is the same specs as the OZ superturismo corsa's also in white, but discontinued, maybe limited limited edition?)
3. here are some places that carry them, not an endorsement, as i have only dealt with Alex and tire rack.
http://solar.innercite.com/comptech/whtozwheels.html
http://www.thewheelexchange.com/prod...era_white.html
http://www.rodmillenstore.com/oz/price.htm

And lastly, if you had your heart set on a set of superturismo's check with these guys,
http://www.northamericanraceparts.com/oz/race.html

they may still have some in stock. I really really really want a set of forged magnesium superturismo's but i think they are only available with a single center lug (way cool!) so not sure how i would convert the MINI's 4/100 pattern to the center bolt? hmmm

hope this helps

Question for yuou S run flat owners who have ditched the run flats. What do you do about flat tires, carry a can of tire flat with you or what?

A can of fix a flat. - to seal small leaks

12v mini compressor, - to air back up

Cell phone, - to call...

Road side assitance program - if your tire is destryoed beyond repair.

95% of flat tires are due to low inflation pressures so check your pressures weekly, and save your need to utilize all of the above.

Alex,

Do you know anything about the kits the bikers carry to fix their tires?
I was at a motorcycle shop getting something and noticed a neat flat tire kit with sealant and a couple of small cartridges of CO2. Much more mini than carrying around a compressor!

I personally use a compand called "scabbs" bad-aids. Self adhesive circle to the innerliner of the tire. Then they crack 2-3 c-02's behind to return pressure!

The sticky sealers are so hard to clean up - I stay away from them if possible!

Ques. for Alex at Tire Rack.

Are there any special kinds of valve stems and caps which are more effective against air leaks than those commonly installed on rims? If so what are they, where can I find a set, pricing, etc.

Thanks for you assistance.

I use a metal vavle made my Fombmental. They are $4.50 each, I use these when a wheel is used for track days, and a standard rubber valve may be compromised by the excessive heat radiated thru the wheel (from the brakes)
