Tire inflation gauge with display while bleeding

Hi - wondering if any tire gauge aficionados out there know of a reasonably priced (sub $50) tire gauge which allows you to overfill slightly, press the bleed valve and watch the tire pressure slowly decrease to the desired reading. I'd like a 0-60 psi scale, not 0-100.

The brass Slime gauge I have features a bleed valve, but it drops the reading down to zero whenever pressed. Does this exist?

Yes, I know it's not a big deal to have to press it a few times quickly in order to bleed of a little bit at a time so as not to over deflate, but I'd rather have one which does it right.

Either analog or digital are OK with me - my experience has been with the analog dial type.

thanks

try this:
http://www.autosportcatalog.com/index.cfm?fa=p&pid=270

this catalog came in the mail yesterday.
I don't know about the quality, but it says 2 year warranty, is 0-60 psi and only costs $19.95
they also have a digital, but it is $60

Miniscule - I've read the descriptions of accugauge products; it says "A push-button valve bleeds air for desired pressure. It also holds the reading until you release the bleed button."

I find that a little confusing. Doesn't "it holds the reading until you release the bleed button" imply that it is holding the last steady tire pressure reading, not the slowly decreasing reading I am expecting while the bleed valve does its thing?

NoModMini - thanks for the tip on the Tanner gauges. I don't mind spending the money if they will do what I'm looking for.

Here's another good source.

I have one of the Magnum gauges. Awesome! The swivel angled chuck is extremely handy.

This one looks nice, but isn't the scale you want.

This one below is the right scale, 0-60. Clips on to the valve stem for 1 handed operation.

I have one like the link in post #3 and while you can watch the needle lower while you bleed air, it's not accurate for determining how much air you've taken out. For example if the tire is 35, while I bleed air out I can watch the gauge drop 3 psi. Removing the gauge and rechecking the tire pressure it didn't drop to 32, even though as I used the bleed button it showed the pressure dropping by 3 psi before I stopped letting air out.

Are there any gauges that display as you're bleeding? How would that work? Is there a gauge that can tell you how much psi is getting past the bleed screw and display a calculated current tire pressure (bleed-off psi minus the prior tire pressure reading)? Griot's descriptions don't really tell you in they do that. They might instantly give you the current tire pressure after you release the bleed screw, but not at the same time you're bleeding air off. That would be something nice to have.

The Longacre gauges maintain the tire pressure as you are bleeding. Simply stop bleeding, and it displays the new pressure. This works really well. Add more air than you need, and bleed it down to the desired pressure.

Tire inflation gauge with display while bleeding

I'm using a Longacre gauge and it works exactly as "sranderle" says.

It is very easy to use and has a clear easy to read dial that can be used at night as well.

Go here: http://www.ioportracing.com/Merchant...&Category_Code= to see more.

Hope this helps...

That second griot's gauge looks like it's the same as this one by accutire which is the only brand name in tire gauges I knew of before reading this thread:
http://www.amazon.com/Accutire-MS-55.../dp/B000BNS7Y2
Available from Amazon vendors on sale for 34.99.

the first one from Griot's looks identical to the Cambell-Hausfeld I have for $20. Griot's has a nice selection, but on stuff that isn't their own, they're very pricey.
