Ryephile, that looks really good! You've got me considering the silver version for my forthcoming black/black MCS. Do you have lowering springs, or did the 18's give you that look?

Bravo, another picture plz

FLashback,

Awesome!
I would love to see a picture a few steps back to see an entire side view. Those wheels and colored big breaks are too hot.

Ryephile - those are too sweet for words!!!! I thought you were running 17s on your tz10s? now I have to wait to see if my tz10s in 17s are too small  did you lower your car as well? no rubbing issues with passengers? let me know... thanks...

If you run 18's without lowering the car, it'll look like a horse-drawn carriage! I'm running Detroit Tuned springs, which have a rate split similar to the H-Sport, but instead of lowering only 0.5" F&R for the "lift-kit" build dates ('04 and newer), these lower about 1.2" F&R, for that deliciously evil stance.

--->asaulo1: was running the 17" TZ-10's, but the 18's were begging and I couldn't resist the urge The TZ-10 is still one of the hidden treasures in the wheel market, IMO. Matches the MINI's aesthetic perfectly, and has lots of room for BBK's!

Thanks everyone for the kind words!
Cheers,
Ryan

ryephile - so, did you get rid of your tz10 17s? do you happen to know how much the 17s weigh? now I can't wait for mine... i just hope the hyperblack doesn't seem too dark for my PW/B MCS....

Mm2

Ryan,
MM2 looks awesome, now if he could just get someone who knows how to drive him. On a serious note, my MX's weight more than 20 lbs.,
what did you do to yours? Shaved, Atkins diet or what?

"Exel TZ-10 in 18x7.5" with Kumho MX in 215/35-18. Corner weight is 37 pounds, only 0.5 pound heavier overall than the 17" versions they replaced! Even better in terms of rotational inertia, the tires are lighter than the wheels (17.5/tire vs. 19.5/wheel), versus the old set using Yoko Parada2's (20/tire vs. 16.5/wheel)"

--->asaulo1: The 17" TZ-10's weigh about 16.5 pounds each. I kinda slipped that into my post with the pics in it.

--->MOTOR'N: I dunno what kind of non-calibrated scale you're using! No atkins or any voodoo; perhaps you need to get yer foot off the scale

just got my exel tz10s.... 17 x 7 ... hyperblack.... pretty happy that the hyperblack didn't turn out too dark.... it looks better in the light so I'll take more pics tom. during the day..... 215/40/17 hankook ventus?!? that's what I get for choosing the "value" package" ..... anybody know anything about these tires? by the way, I weighed the new tires/wheels and they were 35 lbs. each... the old 16s with the runflats wieghed in at 40 lbs. each... so I saved 5 lbs. per corner.... yoohooo.....

Ryephile - here they are? thanks... got the idea from you... although you went out and got 18s instead...

asaulo>>>>i had the ventus hr2 tires on my previous car, and they are not a very performance like tire, but they have a nice pattern for the rain and also a very cool 320? treadwear

mini giant - thanks.... that's good to know that they'll last a long time... I'm saving the 16 hyperlites so that I can mount some falken azenis tires on them for track/autox purposes.... these are strictly for the "bling bling" factor

--->asaulo1: the wheels certainly match the car! Now, ahem, you just need to get rid of those "lift-kit" springs! Uh oh, the never-ending modding begins

I just tried to order WHITE Exel TZ-10's 17"s w/Yoko ES100's 215/45/17 from wheelmax, and they are backordered for 6-8 Weeks!

Car sitting on jacks with a bad GY RSA....really annoying. Good time for upgrade, wife approved, now if I could just get them

Both above brands are only available in silver, unfortunately. The SportMax (previously Primax) are similar but not identical.
