What is causing this tire ware?
My stock 16" Dunlop 5000 DSST have about 24,200 on them. If it was not for the heavy wear on the inside of each tire I figure I could get another 8k out of them. I rotate every 4k and autoX once in a while. The car drives stright and does not pull a bit.
Thanks

Combination of normal wear on the outer edges and possible slightly off alignment.
It's good to do alignment each year or two to keep tire wear and handling at max levels. Or if you do change tires then you can do alignment to get the most out of the new tires.
If you drive hard in corners you can get quite a bit of wear on the outer edges of the front tires just under normal use. Tire rotation helps to lessen this wear but eventually after 20,000 miles your tires will show this type of pattern.
Helps to keep tire pressures up and in the recommended range.

Those don't look bad. Looks like camber wear to me. Our cars come with some negative camber dialed into them. Yours may have a bit more. Was that a front or rear tire? MINI's have more camber in the rear than the front. When replacing those tires I'd advise an alignment check.
Put camber plates on & you can really see some front tire wear if the alignment isn't set correctly. I understand one trip to the Dragon can do it.

Rotate from to back every 4k but I owuld say that they wear quicker in the back.

While alignment can cause that kind of wear, so does spinning the inside tire coming out of corners. If you don't have an LSD, or maybe even if you do with the factory installed LSD, you can really get the inside tire spinning when cornering fairly hard.

My inside wear was caused by the Dragon this year, AND because I had just had rear adjustable control arms installed while there...and the camber was not correct. I was unaware of it until I returned home to Ohio and happened to notice the extreme inside wear. The car has since been aligned. The tires that were on the rear are now on the front, and some extra runflats I had are now on the rear. While all the tread is not new, it is all around 15k and is good.
I track this car at HPDEs with the runflats, but never had a wear problem until after getting the fixed camber plates up front and then the rear adjustable control arms in the back. I/ve learned a good lesson here...to make sure the car is in proper alignment before going back on the twisties.
I have ASC, not DSC or LSD. Even if I had the latter two, I probably would not use them at the track. I have DSC on my Cooper and really cannot discern any difference between it and the ASC on my MCS.
