2012 JCWs still had the N14 engine and didn't switch to N18 until 2013. Yours says N18. Another easy tell are your brakes. JCWs got big 6 pot(?) front calipers versus smaller ones on the S (1 or 2 pistons?), which were in themselves an expensive upgrade - a JCW brake package is about $3000 form ECS. You have the JCW body kit, which is still very nice.
There's a 2011 JCW on cars and bids right now.
(Mr DeMuro does like featuring MINIS - must have a soft spot for them. )
BMW and MINI are *mostly* to blame for this. They never hesitate to dilute the ///M and JCW branding by slapping cosmetic crap on non M and JCW cars. I've seen it all too many times where someone is advertising a BMW Z3 'M' just because there's an M badge on the steering wheel or entry sill. Common $10k car vs. collector $30k car.
Either way I think you should update your for sale ad. I'm sorry you thought you've been driving a JCW all these years.

Jcw or not , it's beautiful...
just throwing the idea up in the air BUT I'd be willing to trade BOTH my r53 for it. Yes ,both...
ones heavily modified but yet still can be dailydriven and passes emissions , they both pass( grey one ) . White one is more towards dailydriver but is still more modified than 90% out there and is pushing 19psi and 0 issues too..also has all new coilovers and front steering n suspension components..they both have HUGE lists of new parts and just about all the performance parts were purchased new.
neither car has ANY issues....
