Rebuilding the Detroit Tuned BBK
Hi all, I'd bought a used DT BBK a long time ago. I figured it was time to rebuild the cailpers (and paint them as well). If you've ever rebuilt a caliper before, it's no big deal.
Outlaw Part Numbers
250-2450 1/8"x3.5" Cotter Pins (to hold pads)
230-2130 1.38" Piston (if needed due to scoring)
225-2295 Fluid Passage Seal (4 per pack, one pack needed per caliper)
225-2265 1.38" Square piston seal (4 per pack, one pack needed per caliper)
235-2305 2 piece bleeder assembly (replace as needed)
Here's the stuff all taken apart (I"d used an ultrasonic cleaner to get all the gunk off):

I used the brush on paint. It's a pain to do well. The stuff is brittle when dry, and cracks off if chipped. But it looks pretty good!

Bang for the buck is great...
but I think it's more than most need. Probably much more than I need. But when I found the kit used, it was under $500. I've had it for a couple of years, and am very happy.
Budget no option, I might have gone another way.

This one was so old...
that it actually predates Chad's selling of them! Back then it was known as the Bad-*** Big Brake Kit! It's a 12.8" x 1.2" directional vented rotor (from some year Supra, I think) with Outlaw 2000 (Wilwood Dynalite clone) calipers. (The caliper is a four pot design, 1.38" pistons, same left or right side, with internal crossovers and four bleed screws per caliper.) A rotor that big has a lot of heat capacity, so I'm not too worried about heating. I'm not the most agressive at braking at the track. But WTF. If they turn brown the calipers aren't that expensive... ~$125 each or so. Then I could always upgrade to a forged dynalite caliper as an exact bolt on...... Who knows.... These work fine.

I should have known these are big...the swept area to the inside to the inside of the rotor is a dead give-away.
so all Wilwood pads work?
so all Wilwood pads work?
