Noisy Koni FSD/H-Sport setup anyone?

I've had my Koni FSD and H-Sport setup on now for a few hundred miles. I definitely notice more noise with this setup over stock. Also it sounds like most of it is coming from the right front and rear. I'm not sure if its because the bump stops that come with the H-Sports are a harder material? Something about the way the Koni FSDs work? Break-in period? My antipsychotic medication isn't working? Hey, who said that?

Has anyone else with this setup noticed strange noises?

A description of the noises might be helpful. Squeeks? Clunking going over bumps?

I'm having FSD and Eibach installed on the TTQC.

Harder stops don't seem logical: else you'd notice it on the driver's side too? After all, most of the time you're monoposto, and the loads would be over left.Like V^3 says, describe them: clunks at low speed/low load would be loose. Clunks at high speed would most likely be the b/s. Loose would usually be accompanied by rattles at high freqs (rough urban roads).

Quien sabe?

FSDs with lowereing springs = a very bad idea...especially if those lowereing springs have rates that are lower than stock. I believe that H-Sport's front rates are lower than stock.

You are correct, sir. That's one of the reasons I went with H&R front springs.

H&R front springs also have a lower spring rate than OEM (145 lb/in vs 165 for OEM)...

Seriously? They also have a kit with 469#springs up front and 350 in the rear - their adjustable coilovers???

actually......

If you contact Koni they will tell you that FSDs are not to be used with lowering springs. This is because the lowering springs reduce shock stroke and then the FSDs are forced to work outside of the design sweet spot. No one wants to listen when we tell them but I would think that the people who make the shocks would know something about their product versus internet lore. None of my customers that have installed FSDs with lowering springs have been satisfied with the results. Too bad, they're good shocks.(when installed with the correct ride height)

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...t=spring+rates

Per Randy Webb:

H-Sports

300 lbs/in rear
$225

H&R
260 lbs/in front
260 lbs/in rear
$240

PSS9
320 lbs/in front
340 lbs/in rear
$1750

Leda
combo
250 lbs/in front
350 lbs/in rear
race
350 lbs/in front
500 lbs/in rear
$1900

Stock
225 lbs/in front
220 lbs/in rear

I've posted on this subject in a thread separate thread. John from Lucky Dog is absolutely correct: FSDs are not to be used with lowering springs. It is written on the box, in the instructions, and on the Koni web site. The Koni tech line will explain it as well.
Our Longacre spring tester rates (on average) the stock springs as 225/200 and the H&R street kit as 470/350 (just as meb posted). Ledas are all custom so posting those rates are useless.
