In my opinion, the ones you want to consider are:

Leda
Bilstein PSS9
KW
M7

Each have their pros and cons. Is price an issue? Do you want more than 2 deg neg camber? Do you want durability?

Cost was an issue with me as well. I found a set of KW Variant 1's on Ebay for a nice price. They are height adjustable only. Depending on your budget, you might look at the Koni Yellow Sport Kit. It is not height adjustable and lowers the car 30 cm, but you can change the stiffness of the ride. If your budget allows, go with the PSS9's...although at that price, there might be a few others worth entertaining like Leda's, KW Competition, or TSW. Good luck!

edit...we really don't know about the M7 coils yet...could be the best thing since 15% pulleys...which I hope is the case...or could be the next Megan/Pilo.

What are the pros and cons of the M7 coilovers? Have they even been released yet?

M7 coilovers are relatively cheap. They offer a wide range of adjustments, 15 settings for stiffness. You can order custom spring rates, and have the dampers valved to suit. Out of the box, you can order 240/280 lbs/in springs, or 300/400. Shock shaft diameter is 50mm and thus strong.

One of the cons is that you can't adjust the height of the rear without changing the spring preload.

You can get these bundled with H-Sport Camber plates for a good price.

The m7s haven't been released yet. I think they will be in a couple of weeks.

m7s, if they turn out to be good, will be good value for money.

That said, Bilstein PSS9s and Ledas offer great value for money too, even though they are actually not cheap. They offer very close to the performance of the Ohlines etc, but still a price which is realistic....

I have PSS9's on the Mini and are pretty happy with them but my loyalty stands with KW's......hands down.

The swap is easy...

but get an alignement afterwords. There's also a thread on a BC install. Special at $1000 for all four corners with camber plates included.

Another way is to do the marketplace, and see what comes up. You'll be able to get a better set for less price, and be as good as new with a rebuild.

Matt

i went with shocks and springs first, then went with a set of used FK Silverline Plus X coilovers, not the most famous, but essentially a KW equal, but with stainless steel body so it won't rust. so far i love it... and this is before corner balancing, and dropping it a bit more! i am hoping to put on stiffer springs in the spring with my modified Webb Plates, and hopefully i'd finally get the handling i wanted

Don't forget H&R! They actually make the springs for Bilstein PSS/PSS9 setups. I have had mine on for 20k miles with zero problems. No adjustment to compression/rebound, but on a daily driver I don't think this is a big deal. PM me if someone wants info on a good price for these.
