Question on the H&R 19mm rear bar

The H-sport and the H&R aren't the same bar are they? And who of our site vendors sell the H&R 19mm bar? I thought I searched them all to no avail.

H-Sport and H&R are different brands/manufacturers. I got my H&R 19mm over a year ago from Turner Motorsport (http://www.turnermotorsport.com/html...UCT_ID=71416-2). At the time I also did not find any NAM sponsor selling it.

I got my H&R bar from Tire Rack. It was a close-out so they don't carry it anymore.
Great bar, no squeeks like I have read other rear bars suffer.

I can't find the H&R anywhere. Got mine about 3 years ago from jscspeed for a great price. Lightly used, willing to sell if you want it. I'll be replacing shortly with a bigger bar, only because I plan on tracking the car more in the upcoming year. Stiffer setting on the H&R bar is plenty for road driving.

Cactusflier, I too am looking for a vendor for the 19 mm H&R. I couldn't find any on the NAM site, but I came up with several through Google. Several of these have the bar priced in the $160 to $180 range. I also contacted the guy on eBay who is selling the 18 mm bars cheap - it turns out he has 19 mm bars also, but is selling for $200. I have been emailing with TSW about some other items and I asked if they can source H&R bars - they are looking into it.

Outmotoring lists the 18mm H&R rear anti-sway bar. Maybe they can also source the 19mm. Or is this a typo? Seems most other companies make 19mm and 22mm or greater.

Ditto, Call Doug at Turner Motorsports. I have the 19mm and have been very happy with it...

Thanks for the link to Turner. I just ordered one. Their price was the lowest I've seen.

Can anyone with an H&R bar comment on the NVH or any other details concerning the car's behavior under 'normal' conditions. I assume it performs like any other sway bar, but H&R seems to imply that their bushings are 'better'/maintence-free. Has anyone had problems with squeaks, rattles or any other unexpected problems? I haven't heard much bad feedback on any sway bar, so I'm guessing that the same applies to this bar.

The H&R bushings do rock... My 19mm H&R bar has been on the car for nearly 4 years now with nary a whimper, squeak, or groan!

On the soft setting, you'll note it is there, but it won't appreciably make a huge difference in handling. On the stiffer setting, you'll know it's there (meaning you'll KNOW it's there!)... With a stock MINI suspension or any OEM variation thereof (SS, SS+, JCW), you'll want to set it on full stiff...

In your experience with street/track cars (a la daily drivers driven on the track), would you ever recommend a larger rear sway bar. I believe I read through a thread in which you recommended a 19mm H&R for all/most street/track cars.

Although the larger bars are popular, it seems that most people who have them set them soft.

The key to the H&R is the bushings as others have stated here.... NO SQUEEKS, Alta and some others do have squeeking issues, some add lube at various intervals with other brands, but the H&R is service free. I bought mine on line from a non-Nam vendor last year for $160, but I can't seem to find them anymore but "RKW"s link seems good at $166, buy it, you'll like it. Good Luck

bigger bars aren't better, size does matter.

I have been doing HPDE and racing the 19mm for two years and it is about the best I used. The car gets limited street use. I don't feel the larger bar is necessary.
