Suspension The M7 Coilover Suspension....
Life is too short to take this so seriously . We thank all of the supporters for being just that and all of the detractors for the added exposure
These are car parts not life and death . At the risk of being accused of taking the thread off topic I have a bit of further news regarding the coilovers. Had a nice drive today and I left them in what I have determined to be a aggressive canyon setup. The interesting observation was that on the ride home over normal city streets the comfort level was higher than I expected while still sucking up any railroad tracks or broken pavement . My original marketing concept was to promote the idea of being able to go to the hills get out , take 4 min to make all your changes to your " performance "setting and have a ball. Finish up, take 4 more min and go back to your mon thru fri setup. With the way they are breaking in I think that the back and forth, even though it couldn't be easier, may not be necessary. Of course you could still utilize the M7 Quick Change ( patent non pending ) and really maximize the true potential to get the best of both worlds .As usual time will tell and thanks for all the " action "

Is the name of the manufacturer going to be released at some point?
What aspect of the design was compromised to meet the price point? Just ultimate track ability (whatever that means) or something else too?

Holy moly - as a potential customer looking for a street/track suspension option (mostly street), this thread has done nothing for me in any way shape or form.
I know nothing more of the M7 product, I know nothing more of the competitors' products, and I'm still out there with my money and my desire to spend it.
Maybe the vendors on this forum should go back to marketing school.
So I'll throw myself into the fray...
PARTSMAN is not a bully - he's an enthusiastic guy who knows what the hell he's talking about - I know that because I've met and spoken with the man. While I might not share all of his M7 affinities, I know his opinions are founded.
And back to the point...
It would be nice (read - impossible) to have some real data to peruse for the various suspension setups. Date, track, conditions, setup and changes, lap-times, etc... Then some info based on testing to speak to reliability and comfort for the street.
I know texaspeedworks tests at the track, but can we be made aware of specifics? I also know they sell a leda setup for the street/track; is this a setup in need of a rebuild every 15-20k?
I know DMH sets up many cars for the track at his shop - Porsches, BMWs and MINIs, and he uses Ledas too.
I know WEBB has a track car or more that they use to test, so what have you all found?
M7's product looks like it will bridge a gap, but the question that outlines this whole argument is, "how will we KNOW it bridges the gap besides by just listening to your marketing schemes?"
Now, I may be in the minority, but I'm NOT going to spend money on the most important aspect of my car's performance without due knowledge, data, and information (just ask PARTSMAN). Maybe people make money off of everyone that just wants the latest, but there are others like me - we don't know crap about suspension setups, but we want the best! haha.

Actually no.
But go back and read this thread, and maybe a few others where someone had the temerity to question an M7 product......then you morph from Fanboy into Bully Boy.
In this thread, everything was ****** and giggles until goaljnky went against the M7 grain......and its gone south from there.
I have nothing against M7, I even bought a few products off of them when I owned my MCS and had no complaints. However, they don't need an attack dog to go after people that disagree with them. Both Horvath and Terwilliger can speak for themselves and I always love to hear what they say about rebranding and the efficacy of their products.
With all due respect, you aren't doing them any favors. A lot of your defensive posts come across as bullying. If Webb has made an attempt to take this offline and prevent yet another M7 thread from turning into a battle royale, show him and M7 some "respect" and spare us this train wreck.

If my posts come across as bullying, I apologize. But, there is no excuse for Randy (and TSW for that matter) to post here about alternative solutions to the M7 product. I feel very strongly about that, and after speaking to Peter and Randy, they support my opinion.
Thanks Marc.
Maybe a moderator can delete all the posts out of this thread not concerning the M7 coilovers.
Leda makes excellent, high performance dampers for dual purpose cars -- street and track. The units that leaked were filled with emulsified gas and the problem was rectified long ago. They are all hand built and thus can be customized to your exact specifications. For road customers, Leda recommends a service after approximately 30,000 miles.
What would you expect Peter and Randy to say?
If I was you I would want the moderators to clean up that mess you left here last night, not to mention getting your head handed to you by Skiploader.
Peace,
Bill
That's a good one, did you come up with that all by yourself. That's pretty good, you're progressing nicely.I'm sure it makes M7 giddy to hear you are continuing to act like a child in this thread, you make a great addition to their customer base.

You're right, it did start to go south after goaljnky insisted on crapping it up by drilling that one dude about his opinion on the product being discussed.

Suspension systems are the single most important change that can be made to a car. It can also be the change that can totally hamper performance. Serious suspension companies invest millions R&D. Thus, it is vitally important to know who makes and tested the M7 coilovers.
If you are price shopping for suspension components you soon understand that you get what you pay for. If you take pride in your car do you want cheap components? For all I know these could be the best dampers in the world but…
Just thought I'd jump in the battle. I think M7 can defend themselves...and likely would be defending themselves if they thought it was necessary. It is their decision to not release quantitative info about the coilovers, and it is other people's decision to question that. I would also like to see this info. Some people will purchase things based on the assessments of a product by a vendor (who stand to make money off the product), others want specs and info on products before they dish out money.
I personally see nothing wrong with what the other vendors are saying on this thread. They are not plugging other products or even claiming that their stuff is better...just making sure that people know this is not the ONLY option.
It's ok...I'm wearing a fire suit.
Go ahead...be a D**k, I'm immune to your childish taunting.
Oh and get a life...
