Suspension Texas Speedwerks Springs... launch!
I'm not positive on this but I think that the added weight on the cabrio is in the back. Anyway, I had an alignment done sooner than I had planned since the install of the FSD/TSW/IE plates introduced massive toe out.
After less than 100 miles I am now 1/16" lower in front and 1/2" lower in back. The back looks great to me but I would like to see more drop upfront. Hopefully that's coming as it settles more.
More important (at least to me) is the ride. With the few miles I've logged I can honestly say this combo rocks. No more pogo effect on hard landings, no more chop on rippled roads, and a much more refined yet buttoned down ride - similar to a BMW 330i without the sport package, which says alot.
Turn in is much improved now that I have some negative camber in the front (L -1.44, R -1.51) Previously I felt the car was a little undersprung. The TSWs solve this and really shine here. I was concerned that these slightly stiffer springs might be a little hard to live with. This is not the case.
I added H-Sport bump stops which are considerably shorter than even cutting down the stockers, so there is plenty of travel without bumpstopping. The IE plates have a thick rubber bushing, the FSDs do their magic to soak up the bumps, and my 15" tires with taller than stock sidewalls take care of the rest. Roads that used to rattle my dash and loosen my fillings are no problem anymore. And the car handles/corners better to boot. Hopefully it stays this way as everything settles in.

Got the springs on and they ride and handle great! Just wish there was a little more drop in the front, well wishes do come true.. Word is that TSW is going to make new sets with a 3/4" to 1" drop in the front!!
If they do not settle in more, and you would like more drop up front, we'd be happy to swap the fronts out for you with the shorter ones that will soon be on the way...
Word has it that you will have springs with a 1 inch drop soon, any time line on those? I was looking to order a set within two weeks but I would rather hold out for the springs with the 1 inch drop instead of the 3/4 drop.
Same price, yup!
The new springs will still remove some of the factory rake, yes... Why? We've tested various ride heights over the several autocross and track seasons now and found that less rake = better cornering dynamics. We've got countless track/AX sessions to prove it...
The new springs will be linear, too, and offer just a bit more drop in the front.
Linear = more predictable, mid-corner where the rubber meets the road. On the MINI, suspension wins out every time vs. power, hands down - unless you like going fast in a straight line.

Straight line performance AND great handling is the best
. I want it all, lol. Do you happen to have any pics of these springs on a stock strut car? I am trying to figure out if I want these springs or some slightly used coilovers. Depending on how much your spring drop the car will help my decision.
Very soon... the springs are supposed to be finished this week and then it's off to the powdercoaters. We expect them to arrive at the end of next week...
Quick update...
Our supplier had a small hiccup when winding the rears - their machine broke! Oh well, they have it sorted now after getting a replacement part shipped in, but it delayed our shipment a couple days. We should have them in tomorrow or Thursday.
As soon as we get 'em in hand, we'll put them on the site...

I just got done installing these springs sat night. After trying to find a way to install them with IE plates and no spring compressor, the install was great! The rears were MUCH easier than the front. One of the best parts of the springs is the customer service that is included. I am on the west coast and called Texas Speedworks about 6-7 my time and they answered, on a Thursday! I was very excited to hear from them. The car drives great know. Really havent started to push it to much, but after the alignment Monday, I will. Thanks guys!

Do you have the original 5/8-7/8 drop springs, or the newer ones that drop a little further?
