Camber kit needed for Springs?

Just wanted to get feedback from someone who has this. Eibach springs lower front 1" and rear 1.2"

with this drop, if I run WITHOUT camber plates, will my tires wear super-prematurely? How much do the wheels butterfly?

Thanks in advance

You won't need camber plates (to my knowledge) b/c the drop is ok. You could, although I think its not recommended, get rear control arms for rear camber adjument. Like I said some might say over kill for a street MINI, which you didn't mention if it was going to have track time.

Hi JP,

thanks for the info. Yes, I wont be on the track, but I'm just afraid of butterfly wheels wearing my tires prematurely.

If you're running with springs and not seeing premature wear, thats all i needed to know! Thanks!

A 1" drop will barely affect static camber up front, but a 1.2" drop in the rear will affect both static camber and camber curve. Get the lower links, they are not overkill; a proper alignment is never overkill

besides camber, how is the toe adjustment when lowering? I have one set of helix rear control arms, I'm wondering I'll need a second to get more toe adjustment for a mild drop?

Rear toe should not be adjusted via the upper links, rahter via the stock method - make sure your shop knows this if you decide to instal these. The upper links provide the same performance and strength as the lower links and these reasons should point you to a purchase, not adjustability. The lower links are definately a must have for camber adjustment.

100%, agree. I would only add that I would always get upper and lower links or if I was limited to only a pair, I'd get some that had as close to stock end flex as possible. I wouldn't want Heim joint lowers and the rubber ended stock links up top.

I will also add that I'm of the opinion that if both upper and lower links are changed and the new links start at stock length and are adjusted equal lengths, in opposite directions, (to adjust camber) then track has not been changed. And even if you changed track, some, ( adjusting both for toe) it could be a good thing, if you needed more rotation or room for bigger tires. Of course any change, to the car, could be considered bad by someone, like the dealer or an insurance man and some moderation is in order.

Is there enough adjustment in the stock set up to hold off on changing the control arms until later?

It all depends on how far away " later " is. I drove with a lowerd car for about 12k miles with no premature inside tire wear. Your results may vary.
