Linear Springs

I wanted to get some linear spring to go w/ some koni shocks. The stock springs are linear and Dinan is the only aftermarket springs that I found that is linear. Anyone else make a replacement linear springs????
Seems like everyone is making progressive springs.

Eibach will make anything you want, but they don't like to make custom progtessive rate springs - I never asked why.

Call Truechoice. Truchoice is also the only US company authorized to rebuild Koni dampers. They are a very knowledgable company. However, you can get stuck with some one who really ought not answer questions, and, tis the racing season - they're really busy.

Good luck

The easiest thing to do is buy some Ground Control coilover sleeves, with whatever spring rate you wish.

That way, if you want to change the rates in the future you'll be dealing with a standard, easy to get size.

I would expect Ground control adjustable sleeves to be available for Koni/Eibach from Truechoice. Just make sure you specify the clamp type sleeves rather than the allen screw stop type - the later are difficult to locate because they are small, and, they rust in place very easily.

Make sure you match your sleeves to the spring diameter you purchase - either 2.25" or 2.5" dia. springs

In reality, once the weight of the car is on the sleeves, they do not need to be tightened a lot.

Jeffs,
Ground control looks like the ticket. Went on their website and no mini kits on their site. I will call them tomorrow. Do you know if they are available for the mini?

All,

I tried calling ground control since their website doesn't have an application for the mini updated. I was put on hold twice and third time went to voicemail and it was full.

Does anyone know if the kit is available for the mini yet? Anyone talk to ground control? Their website does not allow you to even email them.

For Linear or straight springs try
http://www.bmw2002.com/ Talk to Jeff the owner.
Start at about 350 pounds for the front and 450 pounds for the rear
using 2.5" diameter springs.

Or from any good race shop or Ireland engineering.

Ground Control

Bad news. Just spoke w/ ground control and they do not have any Mini kits and no indications on when they will have one available.

So what did you decide on getting Emmanuel? Still using H-Sport for now?

Matt,
Got some koni's and using the front hsport springs w/ the konis and the rear I'm using the stock rear spring w/ the konis. Seem to work pretty good. Check it out. Did you get your car yet?
