How long will H-sport springs last?

Since their progressive, how long will the springs live for if they are tracked 3-4 times a year? How long will the stock shocks/struts live for with these springs? Which proper shock would you match for these springs with and how long with the live then?

Seeing if coilovers would be better than matching springs and shocks myself.

Thanks.

Well, you may be asking this due to some of my latest post. If so, then you know that my personal experience seems to point to the conclusion that the H-sport with stock shocks don't last if you drive hard and do track days.
I'd would have said that the Koni yellows might make a great combo with the H-sports as I've heard here on this forum that people who have done it are quite happy. The problem that I see now is that my H-sports are part of the problem with the failing shocks being that they began to sag a good amount. I should get these springs sent of to H-sport to see if they see a problem I guess.
So, at this time I would have to say that if you are planning on tracking your car more then a few times, coilovers are the way to go.

onsaled, yeah it was after your thread that made me want to know. How many miles are on the H-sport and how often do you track the car with it? Please report back any word you hear from H-sport if you decide to send them back.

um, what makes you believe coilover kits will out last the lowering spring
setup? I know some coilovers can be overhauled where as most
struts/shocks can't...but how long do you intend to keep the car?

shocks

bilsteins can be overhauled. bilstein makes a SP for lowered minis that is supposed to be very good. im told that being its a digressive rate shock the adjustability is built in as it is not adjustable like konis are.

Coilovers are built to match ride height of spring and shock, so they should last quite a bit longer then a shock and springs whos ride heights are different. The stock shocks are tuned for the stock springs. When you lower the ride height and start bottoming out, then that shock is working out of it's designed use.
I remember hearing discussion about this being a problem. I'm now one of the believers that it in fact is a problem. I'm no expert by any means though

If the spring rate matches the shocks there's no reason to fear that the dampers will prematurely blow. Also, the dampers will not bottom out if you use proper spring rates and bumpstops.

there's another way to look at the question...

How long with H-Sport springs will you be satisfied with just the tip of the iceberg of suspension tuning? I think my H-Sports will go away long before they wear out......

I like the fact that the H-Sport springs are an affordable solution for better handling while being less harsh on the roads. But if having to have them replaced if they lose their stiffness, then I have to drop more money into replacing them when I should've went with the proper application from the beginning. H-Sport seem to be popular and if I were to go with springs, those would be my choice. Not too much drop for crappy NYC pot holes and steep driveways and better on the cushion, however if they are going to die early, I would rather not waste the money or save up for coils.

I want them to last. I'm not the type to spend 5 figures on top of the car's price especially if I had to fix a mod I wrongfully chose. If so, I would get another car.

Also, would like to see the results of onasled's problem with the H-sports and the factor that caused it.
