Would it be better for us that already have H-Sports to just get
the Koni Yellows?

In the likely event that the included springs on the Koni coil-overs aren't as good as the H-Sport springs, then yes, Koni Yellow's would be the much better purchase (at half the price of the coil-overs...assuming you don't need corner balancing capability).

Always good to see a retailer post an ad here and not even follow up with some answers to our questions. Interesting marketing as there is no info on the website either.

yeah, I wouldn't need corner balancing on my car.... The H-Sport springs
settled pretty much flat within +/-3mm so it's not a big deal on the streets
for me.

I don't know the answer as to what the spring rates are but springs of this type, tapered, are typically only offered in one rate and and one length and if that's the case you could neither change rates or ride height except within the limited range of that spring. With my KW's I can get many different spring rates and severl lenghts plus with tender springs I have a ride height range of probably 4-6".

OK I'm back,

Height adjustment - about 0.5 to 1.5" lower than stock.
Adjustments - **** from top in the fronts, fully compress & turn in the rear.
Spring rates - not published. KONI says Progressive springs are optimized for these dampers, providing better ride quality (at the softest setting) than stock while improving handling performance.

This KONI setup is for the street, with available adjustments for those looking for a 'sportier ride'. If you take long drives, have a spouse &/or little ones, live in a area where the roads aren't the best, AND you still want your MINI to handle better than stock - this kit is for you.

Let me know if you have further questions.
Ken

This is a common method of adjustment for shocks in the european market. Since this coilover system is targeted for the street MINI, it is anticipated that the owner will rarely changing the settings once set at the desired level, unlike a track MINI. However for those who wish to experiment, removing the rear shocks is not difficult.

By fully compressing the shock, the mechanism for adjustment is engaged. Starting from a fully 'soft' position (full counter-clockwise), you turn the shock body clockwise the desired amount to stiffen the rebound. Once set, you can release the shock back to full extension.

Hope this helps.
Ken

Booo... IMO, it's completely unacceptable to bring a new product to market without an adjustment ****. Koni dropped the ball on this one. They might as well not be adjustable at all if you've got to remove them from the car to do it.

Ken,

Do you have the kit in stock? Have you installed the kit in one of your cars? I would like a test drive. I am considering this kit.
Let me know and I can drive out your way.

After going through this exercise before I bought Bilstein coil overs I was (as usual) confused. I had H sport springs and yellows and wanted a more compliant ride whole retaining the aggressive handling. IMO I still think that the HS and Yellows are very hard to beat. Had I not added the front sway bar (at considerable cost) I would have removed the Bilsteins. This BS about "street" coilovers (IMO) is just that. If you can't get different spring rates (springs) to your taste I would stay away. Bilstein does not offer different springs and aparently neither does Koni. If I had it to do over I would get coil over where I could specify spring rate and change them till I was happy. I'm not the expert but I have spent some money (this is not theory but actual) IMO H Sport has done a great job coming up with springs for the Mini. I do have my car corner balanced but I am not good enough nor do I drive hard enough to really appreciate the difference from what I had. The KOnis and Yellows are stiff and my GF would not ride in the car because she has a bad back so I guess it just depends on what you want.

You mean you can't follow my aimless rambling. I have Bilstein PSS9s and front/rear H Sport sway bars. I like it very much but for pure performance driving I think the Konis and H Sports are just as good if not a bit too stiff. I spent the money hoping for a more compliant ride ,which I got, but was not counting on having to put in the front sway bar to get the performance I wanted. The front sway bar takes considerable time/labor to install. I thought the PSS9s without the front bar rolled too much. Not everyone agrees with this but I was used to the Koni set up which had very little roll.

Is that a little more clear
