R55 Clubman Lowering Springs

Recommend me some lowering springs

I daily drive my Clubbie, and last year I averaged about 30k miles. Needless to say, my OEM struts are shot, and I want to get some springs in there too. I’d like something that rides close to stock, but give a slight performance boost. I’m planning some Bilstein SPs to go with the springs.

I liked my H&Rs when I had them. 1.5" drop.Be sure to look into whether linear or progressive spring rates are better for your shocks though.

Bilstein offers a “cup” kit paired with Eibach Prokit springs, but I like the reputation of the H&Rs, too. Just curious if there is another option that is favorable here.

We actually have some of the old NM R55 springs still in stock
https://www.waymotorworks.com/nm-eng...rings-r55.html

And they work great with the Koni Yellows
https://www.waymotorworks.com/koni-y...5-r56-r57.html

We found the Koni to ride better than the Bilstein.

I’ve had bad experience with Koni, and would prefer to not use them. Even with the lifetime warranty, they won’t cover R&R or return shipping. I have had better experience with the Bilstein, even though they ride a bit stiffer and lack damping adjustments.

Do you have a stiffer rear sway bar yet? If not, this is a great time to put one in while you have the rear suspension disconnected.

What is the difference between these three spring options:

We actually ship you whichever NM springs you order. So if you order R55 springs we will send you the R55 version. Once we sell the last 2 sets there will only be one R55-R56 version from NM that will be the same. So as long as you select your model when checking out and get one of the last two R55 sets they will be the same. But once sold out NM will all be the same for R56 and R55 so the rear springs won't be different like they were in the old R55 set.

As for TSW springs we are currently out so they are not an option at this point.

The difference between the R56 and R55 NM springs would be the amount of lowering in the rear? I prefer to have the rear ever-so-slightly higher than the front. Would that imply I want the R55 NM springs?

Do you have the Bilstein B8 sport shocks? I only see a listing for the B4 and B6 sets...

The actual R55 springs are made to handle the extra rear weight of the Clubman, the R56 ones will tend to sag a bit more because they are meant for the hardtop.

I can get you the B8, but Bilstein says end of Aug/Sept before more are avail. but need to check tomorrow as I may have a set in the warehouse.
