BMW PERFORMANCE BRAKES in a R56 (same as GP2)

Hi guys, a friend of mine is selling the BMW calipers with pads:

And by knowledge those calipers are the same as the mini GP2, now..
What do I need to get to retrofit it to my mini S R56?
330mm disc.
What more???

Im considering this because the price (under 500 dllrs)

Thanks a lot!!!!

I'm guessing the brackets, rotors and be sure the lines mate up to them. Shouldn't be that complicated I suppose if that's all you needed.

Maybe this will help. The GP2 Brake kit from MINI comes with the Calipers (which you have), 330mm rotors , Pads, Hardware, and Hoses. The problem is going to be finding the parts since the GP2 is so rare. The rotors and pads from the BMW may be the same and if so they would be a-lot easier to get. You may be able to get those rotors at a good price from Centrex/Stoptech.

So the brackets can be custom?? or I need to order from the dealer?

Even if they do fit first time, take it very slow as your brake balance will be drastically different. Minis already rotate under braking. They look great, but if this is a performance upgrade and not mainly for aesthetics, I would pass in a heartbeat. Better pads and SS brake lines are all you need in the mini.

OEM GP2 brake discs are part number 34116858071. These are plain, not cross drilled

I got my replacement from pelican parts, they have them for $163 each

The GP2 has a different master cylinder to every other R56 as well.

No, definitely different. Part number for GP master cylinder is 34336857907. Every other R56 part number is 34336786585. The GP master cylinder has "GP Mini" stuck on the front in big letters!

I am not sure what the difference is, maybe size. To be honest I think it will probably work fine with the stock.

I am sure my JCW with carbotech AX6 pads out brake a stock GP2 setup. The difference when switching from stock to performance pads was astounding. I would have never believed it until I experienced it. I have driven a GP2 to verify...

I will sell my GP front rotors if someone can help me find real two piece cross/drilled Brembo or StopTech rotors that are plug and play for my GP.
Thank you
Mario
