You've got to be kidding me. Was there a Christopher Lowell marathon on this weekend?

Color plays a bigger role in marketing a product than many people realize. Think about how we associate different colors with products...

NOS nitrous systems==blue
Dewalt power tools==orange/yellow
H&R Block====green
McDonalds===yellow+red
Tiffany & Co====turqoise
7-UP===green
etc....

You can produce the finest product on the market, but without a brand recognition such as color association or logo, your success may not reach it's full potential. If you change a recognized feature, you could see sales drop.

...and the Christopher Lowell Marathon was last week. Pay attention!

If H-sport springs and rear swaybar are black then how stealthy that would be for visits in to see the Dealership service dept and how confusing it would be at the autocross.-you can see that the MINI is lowered and has an adjustable not fixed bar. easy to keep clean though.

"BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL"

And, there are a lot of folks who don't want bright blue springs, drop links, lower control arms, and sway bars on their yellow, red, or green cars, especially when they show through 4 or 5 spoke "open" wheels.

It's also less of a conversation starter (which is good!) when you bring the car to the dealer for service or warranty work.

And, now H-Sport can charge more for custom color applications for folks that want a certain color H-Sport product for their car.

Good move all around, I'd say.

Charlie

Too bad! I thought that HSport blue was a cool signature color. Besides it goes well with an IB Mini.

Ummm.... I believe you could always order H-sport in blue or black. That's how they have advertised it anyway. I know when I got mine I had the option of either color. I do like the stand out blue.

I'm happy they changed from blue to black. Thats what has been holding me up from ordering the H-Sport rear bar. I didn't know that you could specify black or blue prior to these posts.

I had an Audi owner tell me they discontinued the blue - I thought it must have just been for Audi's. I guess it is across their product line. I guess more people want to be stealth than show. Personally I like the blue, especially for a car like the MINI.

This is the first I have heard of it and I was at Hothckis ( H-Sport ) last week to pick up 5 sets of blue copm sway bars. Most of the guys are back east at the IAS show but i will place a call tomorrow and see what they say. BTW blue is a favorite color of a few different suspension companies H & R being one of them .

It's quite noticeable when the car is lowered and the swary bar has additional holes. As for black pulley, Madness pulley has always been black. :smile:

As long as it's not a STI pink its all good.

black and blue is my favorite colors.

In my head..
Red = defect
Green = TEIN products
Purple = ZEX products (HPI RC car)
Yellow = Neuspeed products
Brown = UPS

color does have great impact on manufacturer image.

Way to go Hotchkiss. Thanks.

Now if they would only do it in Chili Red, we could all corner faster

Their website now shows black is their new color.

I now have everything except the swaybar, exhaust, and stage one brake kit.

Most dealers are probably hip to what smaller Pulley look like.

We still have several H Sport Springs and Competion Rear Sway in Blue if anyone is interested.

Since they are old models and discontinued does that mean they will be heavily discounted

FWIW I ordered an H-Sport Comp rear bar on Wednesday from Tire Rack. Received it today and it is blue. They still have more in stock if anyone is interested. See also post above from R-Speed.

I just installed the H-sport rear bar yesterday and I like it being blue. Makes it easier for people who know what to look for to see that I've got it. Hopefully I'll be able to get a blue set of springs in a few months when I'm ready for springs.

H-Sport is a daughter company of Hotchkis. Hotchkis's corporate product coloring has always been black, so this switch may be a surprise to the H-Sport crowd, it was only a matter of time to those that were familiar with the rest of Hotchkis's lineup.

That said, corporate fat trimming dictates the extra process of the blue powdercoating must go, hence the switch to black corporate-wide. Hopefully the black H-Sport stuff should be available very soon (crosses fingers!)

Cheers,
Ryan

Just got my order from H-Sport. Blue springs, blue sway bar, black lower links. No problem with the mix and match colors since either one looks good with PS/ps. Besides, black and blue will match my knuckles after the install.
