Up to what size spacer could I use with my stock lug bolts, I would like to go with a 5mm or 8mm if possible?

I would not use the stock lug bolts with any sized spacer. Longer lug bolts are easily had: if you can't find any, contact me and I'll get you some.

+1

I worked on a R58 with stock bolts on 5mm spacers and I told him he needed extended studs, it was extremely short and I recommend not running stock bolts on spacers...

For your own safety do not even think about this!!

The R56 M14 lug bolts are 1.25 pitch. They need 9 turns (12mm of engagement) to be safe. Stock, without spacers they only just have 9 turns.

With an 8mm spacer you are only going to lose 2/3rds of that, ie 6 turns. The wheel will barely be held on.

Have a look here http://www.turnermotorsport.com/c-14...-and-nuts.aspx

Also keep in mind that with 8mm spacers the wheel does not even sit on the hub ring. The only thing holding that wheel up are the bolts. So if you're running stock bolts, that's a ridiculous amount of stress on some extremely short bolts and it may very well snap on you. I'd only run a 5mm or 10mm with extended bolts, nothing in the middle...

Just buy a set of wheel studs. They make working on your car so much more convenient. I have not missed those stupid bolts in three years

If you buy your spacers from alta they can come with new bolts.

I've been able to install up to 5mm before with the stock bolts, but I really recommend going to longer bolts, or studs even at 5mm.

We have a great 14mm stud kit you can get with nuts.

You wouldn't happen to sell nuts as well would you?
