Stock Endlinks Sway Bar

Are the stock Endlinks fine with a 19mm sway bar.
I heard they fail but that may be with the 22mm.
Will I be fine if I drive mostly city and occasionally track once a year? I have Alta Endlinks now and they irritate me with the noise. I may just go back to stock. What are your opinions?? Thanks

i dont track my car and i have a 22mm rear sway bar and found that one of my endlinks snapped in half. There are other makers of endlinks if you dont like alta's but i would not recommend going back to stock.

I think I have a stock link starting to go bad, making a noise. Kind of a rattle sound not necessarily associated with hitting a pot hole, say. It kind of a rattle sound I hear from back there just barely rolling down the alley. Whose link is the recommendation? I've got NM springs with a 19mm sway.

I have no problems with the Whiteline endlinks. With the 22 mm madness bar except I cannot use the stiffest setting because the links will rub.

I'm running the H-Sport competition bar and my alta endlinks were crap and then I went back to stock, same crap again. I'm going to change both and use the OEM links and hope for the best! Good luck man!

I've seen many vendors tell people the stock end links will fail with a sway bar to get them to buy links with the sway bar. This is totally FALSE, 90% of the bars we have installed have had the stock end links and I haven't seen but 10 or less failures over the last 10yrs.

If you do want to upgrade check out our WMW end links. They are 100% adjustable, but still have a sealed ball socket to keep them quiet, but still super strong as we've been using them on the race cars for years without failure. The exposed heim joint style like the alta's always make noise and end up wearing fast.

I think it depends on the ride height and if you are on the stiffest setting or not. there are a few factors to consider. Majority of people who run with close the stock height will have no problem.
My car was lowered a lot from the previous owner and the new stock link snapped after two weeks on the stiffest setting.
Just my two cents buy the adjustable links if you intend to lower your car.
Way will help you out on how on the adjustment.

One of my stockers failed in the first 4k miles that I had my car. I'm not one to replace any failed stock with another stock part unless there isn't any other option, so I went with Whiteline KLC106 links for $135 shipped and they've been great. I had very similar Whiteline links on my GTI as well and they were great on it too.

One of these days I'll get a bigger bar on there, and I'm sure they'll be fine with it too

Way, this is Becky & Luis... Glad you posted about the stock end links. What's your suggestion on a rear sway bar brand? You know I am partial to NM Engineering, but I only see an adjustable 22 mm bar from them. AND are you going to MM9 in orlando...if so, can you install the rear sway bar while you are there???

I'm just curious, then where does the rattle, clunking, and other weird noises come from if it's not the endlinks or bushings? I'm actually on my way right now to buy the right endlink to replace the stock one, hopefully no more noise as the noise increased from that area.

Yes I can install it there. The Hsport comp is the best as it is the lightest, and has the best bushings on it, plus it's cheaper.

I can't tell where your noise is coming from over the internet

Sorry to hi jack the thread but i feel it's related to the endlink.

I am planning to lower the car with KW v1, rear ireland swaybar, would i still need to upgrade the endlink for both front and/or rear?

Only the front. The stock front endlinks will interfere with the control arms when you significantly drop the car. The rear endlinks won't have any issues. You only need to have the rear endlinks replace with adjustables when you need to corner balance the car.

Does that happen as the control arms go through their motions?

If the endlink/swaybar doesnt touch the control arm when the car is in the air, is there still a possibility of an issue?

The moment you take the car off jackstands and the coilovers start to compress they will interfere. You absolutely need to buy the front swaybar endlinks if you're going to lower significantly, which is one of the best reasons to own coilovers :-)

Hi Way,

Do your rear endlinks rub (hit the springs) with the HSport bar on the stiffest setting?

I am having an issue with the Whiteline rear endlinks and it's rubbing the JCW springs on the stiffest setting. I am looking for a replacement.
