Love the look and it the possibilities but I think you should look into a way to reconnect the swaybars for road use, maybe make some quick disconnects like those used on Jeeps. Another thing I would consider is fabricating longer control arms for the rear in order to center the wheel better. I am really looking forward to seeing this Mini covered in mud. Keep up the good work, Minis are designed to be modified.

The things I made are essentially these things http://www.countrymanconnection.com/...ift_Kit.html#4
And I plan on eventually getting some aftermarket coilovers, and adjustable rear control arms for that sole purpose.

I dig it
It reminds me of a car someone I know on a photo forum made which he called "Stomper" (modeled after the old matchbox cars)
here's a thread on it on a Subaru forum with pics of it in action http://www.rs25.com/forums/f131/t126...tomper-hd.html

Here's a quick test video trying out the fun that this thing is capable of.Those ruts were a lot deeper then they look in the video.

Lets see that thing wheel, lol. You are set up for crossing the outback. My stock JCW could handle that road. We need sticky mud or a slope to see those front tires spin and what kinda bite they have with those meats. Not that over the top the more I look at it. I went from BFG AT on my Dodge 2500( 6" lift and 35's0 to Toyo 20" x 35" Muds and those are some huge lugs. I keep forgeting the BFG Muds are not that aggressive like the Toyo's. The AT's siped where still the best tire except conditions that would allow the sidewall lugs to bite on the Toy's.

Very interesting and I bet a lot of fun to dirt road in. Reminds me of the body lifted VW Bugs with agressive tread tires from years ago. Those lifted bugs would do wonders off road and made great dirt road hunting transporters. It's amazing what kind of climbing they would do as well.
How's your creation at climbing hills? The front wheel drive should pull you well.
Don't know how serious your off roading will get, but you might consider a Mini trailer hitch in the rear and something similar in the front that is attached to the strong points for a electric hitch-winch to get you out of trouble without 4WD.
Kudo's for going bold!

I'm still looking for an area where I can give it the beans and sling mud all over.Trust me,when I find a road or a trail that meets my expectations, you'll see what this car will look like brown
.
I am going to put a bull bar with a winch and some fog lights on it.I had actually just seen a video of a hidden trailer hitch last night and just thought "wow I need that".And I'm also thinking of doing a rear diffuser with mud flaps all around to give it that rally look.
I also wan't to put a new exhaust on it to match the aggressive looks, but I don't want something that sounds ricey or farty. It needs to have a growl.Does anyone have any suggestions?
